Starting out our day at Animal Kingdom, we ride Dinosaur, Expedition Everest, Kiliamanjaro Safaris and I try Street Corn for the first time on Sam's recommendation.
Jessie and I then quickly stop by Pop Century to pick up our bags for a one night stay at Universal's Hard Rock Hotel. We check in, have a little issue doing so and explain how I booked this stay with airmiles via Virgin Holidays. We take the time to review the Standard View room at Hard Rock Hotel, along with our first impressions, the cleanliness and overall value of the stay.
Jessie and I then grab dinner at Hard Rock Cafe on Universal City Walk, before Sam and Dale join us again for a spoopy evening at HHN. We manage to see all the remaining houses after our last night, along with the help of HHN Express which I purchased in advance of the trip. We give you our theme and scares reviews, and enjoy some of the drinks and food available.

Hello Adam! Long-time viewer/subscriber, and your vlogs are my comfort watch! :) I wanted to let you/other viewers know my partner and I recently stayed at Portofino and had a very similar experience to what you had at Hard Rock. The room wasn't clean and the furniture was broken and showing extreme wear/tear. We had great customer service though and changed rooms, but not much better. We thankfully used points, so hopefully others know before booking at the price they want per night.

I’ve stayed at all three premier hotels at Universal. Hard Rock is the closest to US can’t beat how close it is. But Portofino rooms are larger in general, but much longer walk. Royal Pacific is a nice maybe ten minute walk to IOA and also has the boat. Usually cheapest of the three. The projects have really increased since pre 2020. Sorry about the printer. My building has a business center with free printing from your phone and WiFi which has saved me so many times. I can feel your pain.

Haven’t been to hard rock for years, (before covid) but they have since changed the rooms by the look of it. Also, it was spotless when we went. I would 💯 have asked to change rooms!!! If it’s not right, you gotta complain. Haven’t watched the whole video yet, so not sure if you complained or not but hope you got something back.

Loving this vlog series! 💕 Me and my husband are heading back to Florida in Jan for 2 weeks. Staying at Pop Century but added on a 1 night stay at Hard Rock Hotel to get the express passes! We literally only booked the hard rock hotel and universal tickets last night on a Black Friday deal. Just finished this video and called attraction tickets up and changed our hotel to Royal Pacific. Stayed there last year for our honeymoon and loved it, thought we’d try something new but something it’s best to stick to what you know! As my husband just said “has Adam Hattan ever served us wrong?” 🤣

Pre pandemic I had a room booked at the Hard Rock Hotel for £210 for the night. For the express passes alone it was well worth it. Unfortunately Covid then happened and I had to cancel. Then last time I looked it was £450! We just bought Express as it was cheaper!

That’s such a lot for Hard Rock hotel, we stayed there in 2019 and loved it but didn’t bay anything like that for a week at the end of October. The longer you stay the cheaper it is but I think they need to imply a minimum stay as the staff have such a huge turnover of rooms to service. We stayed for a week in Royal Pacific last year and felt like we were staying in an airport, always long queues at reception with people checking in and out and non existent room cleaning. I asked one day for fresh bedding which I was happily going to put on myself but I’m still waiting for it!!

I have done almost all of the Universal Resort Hotels. I've done Royal Pacific, Cabana Bay, Hard Rock and Portofino. Hard Rock is at the bottom of my list. I just felt it wasn't worth it. The room felt dirty. I like Portofino but We had issues with the lighting in our room. The lights would flicker whenever you turned them on like there was an electrical issue. Royal Pacific and Cabana Bay I have never had any issues.

We stayed at the Royal Pacific on our first trip from Australia. we loved it ,they were so nice and made it special for our little ones' birthday, I'd stay there again

We stayed for 4 nights last august (22) and got hard rock for 1.2k for the 4 nights. Ive priced up for next august and its 1.5k for 3 nights so looking more like the 500 per night. It makes me sad as the kids loved it there. The room was dated compared to our luxurious coronado springs tower room, but we loved the fact it was only a 3 minute walk from our room to the gate - especially on the several occasions when the storms stopped the boats from running!

I stayed at the HRH Orlando around 10 years ago and we felt ripped off. It was so dated then and still looks the same. We were so disappointed with out stay. We were excited for the in pool speaker playing music under water but every time we went in it wasn't working. Everywhere was dirty throughout the hotel too x

I have stayed at both Cabana Bay and Royal Pacific twice and had great times at both. The larger rooms at Cabana Bay are great for a family amd i love the lazy river and proximity to Volcano Bay. Royal Pacific has a lovely relaxing vibe and the boats and express passes were great. We visited Portofino Bay and ate at Sal's after watching your stay there and have hung out at the pool and ate at Hard Rock. We would like to "change it up" on a future trip but might now lean towards Portofino Bay.

Hard Rock is my least favourite universal hotel. I know you dont get the Express but Sapphire falls is my absolute favourite. For the express i would book Royal Pacific.

Good job, Adam. Your rating of the Hard Rock Hotel was very fair, based on your presentation. You could have used your miles/points for a better product/experience. The miles/points have value, and the room did not equal the value of what you “paid”. Enjoy your holidays, Adam.

I stayed at hard rock last year and I was quite disappointed by the room! It felt dated and not worth the huge price tag. The shared areas were lovely though! I was in an adjoining room and housekeeping started hoovering the room next door to me at 10.30/10.45pm!! After a long day at the parks i was in my bed trying to sleep 😂

Hi Adam. I have never stayed at the Hard Rock. Stayed at Portofino, and have to agree with you 100%. Love Portofino. You may might to try Royal Pacific, which is a very nice hotel too and it also gives you your express tickets to the park.

Hey there i just wanted to say that ive stayed at hrh club rooms for im sure less than half the price you paid. The express passes are fantastic and the proximity to the parks is the best out of all the luxury hotels there. It is so much better value than most of the disney hotels.

A bit late to comment on this but I have stayed at hard rock before and it was only for the express passes. We paid £300 for the room and there was 4 of us in it. £75 each for a nights stay and 2 days with of express passes is a bargain! I can see if you stay there on your own that it doesn’t make financial sense. Plus those hotels are at there most expensive around Halloween and especially on a horror night.

That was definitely not worth over$500 at the hard rock ! Great vlog ! I used to love going to the Hard Rock Cafe in London in the 70,s when I was in my teens , it was the place to go lol ! You should have said something and taken the towels down! I’d email them with your feedback

I think the delux universal hotels have really jacked up their prices since Covid. I had 2 nights is it club class for about £500 in 2020. Gr8 vlogs as always

have been fortunate to have stayed at club level in both hard rock and the royal pacific, royal pacific wins hands down, we were there in may, fantistic hotel, have to love universial

As someone who works at Loew’s hotels at Universal (cannot disclose which one) so sorry this was your experience as it’s certainly not the standard we aim for. I will fill ya in on the burning smell though. If your A/C was off or at a low temp when you walked into the room and you turned it up because it was too cold, the heater engages to bring the temperature up and it gives off a burning smell the first 5-10 minutes it runs. Certainly hope your experience is better upon your next visit should you choose to try again.

I stayed at Portifino over the summer and had a dirty room. Cereal and milk stuck to the table. Yuck. The carpet looked worn out and it was a bit smelly, like mold. And that was a *luxury* resort?! Unbelievable. Won’t be staying at a Universal Resort again.

I believe the rooms were more expensive due to HHN. Definitely the rooms at Royal Pacific are much nicer.

Your 510£ equals $976AUD okay if it’s a party of 4 and all share the cost but so expensive. We did stay here in February 23 for 4 nights (4 person’s grown up family ) and the express passes were worth it and the beautiful walk to the park.

I have to agree. I think HRH is the bottom of the three premier hotels at Universal. I love Portofino Bay best. Also love Cabana Bay!

I wonder if because you used points for a “free” room, that they gave you a basic, lower end room. But if you paid straight out of pocket, you’d have a better experience?

I did think about that, but then I figured Virgin would be booking the same room rate regardless 🤷🏻‍♂️ I'm not sure, it was definitely a 'bog standard' Hard Rock Hotel room in my opinion. Thanks for watching 😊✨

Adam I can’t believe you didn’t complain about your hotel ..you should’ve said something to see how they reacted ..we’ve had cause to complain at Disney and the concierge were absolutely brilliant , it would’ve been useful to see how universal handled things especially with the grubbiness of the room 🤢 grotty towels etc , no no no , next time have a moanmoan
