Just replaced my adapters & jeep wheel combination with some Black Rhino, Boxer wheels! WHAT A GAME CHANGER!! I explain why I switched PLUS why stick ridgelines wont allow for this size of tires.

There's a guy with a Ridgeline that put black steel wheels with a 0 offset. The bolt pattern was just slightly different than the Honda bolt pattern so he had to drill them out a bit and also use hub centric rings. I was thinking of doing the same to my 2011 Honda Pilot after I get a 2" lift, but have decided I want to keep the OEM Touring wheels, just upgrade the tires to All Terrains in the stock size of 245/65r17, but with spacers to make the wheels/tires stick out a bit for a more aggressive stance.

That’s awesome man! Ya, I saw that but I wouldn’t do that personally.

Had a widebody Subaru I didn’t run huh centric rings on and learned the hard way. Just got a 2007 Ridgeline today and I believe the wheels were put on without hub centric rings

Great info! If you go spacer/adapter, always go hubcentric, to avoid what happened to you 💪

As always great info. I was thinking about the spacers the other day. I think I will avoid them. Thinking about going to some all terrain tires. I spend a lot of time on the road.

What offset did you go with for the Rhinos? They look great dude, you've built the template that people will be looking towards to build up their own rigs. Thanks for what you do.

Good to know. Loving the channel. Ready to pull the trigger on a lift and bigger tires for my stock 09'. With all your experience with different set ups, if you were starting from scratch right now what size/brand lift would you go with for a daily driver. (Ill likely replace my struts at same time but the Flatout Suspension ones aren't in the budget.)Thanks
@RenegadeHQ
@RenegadeHQ 2 жыл бұрын
I would just spend the extra little bit on Flatout struts and not use any spacers. Hit me up on IG. Let’s chat

Those new wheels look GREAT! Are the stock wheels (although boring) strong enough to do all the things these Boxer wheels can handle with the Flat Out suspension?
@RenegadeHQ
@RenegadeHQ 2 жыл бұрын
O ya, they can handle it no worries.

I saw a different vid and a guy drilled the lug holes of some american racing wheels that were 5 x 4.75 and not 5 x 120. He had to buy some hub centric rings and the offset was wrong, but he was happy with the look he got. Another video showed a guy buying BMW rims and tires with good enough tread to pass inspection and then he was going to swap them back after the inspection because the hub center hole was larger on the BMW rim and they centered only with the lug nuts. I barely make enough money to afford the payments on mine so I will just stick with stock.

Ya. I don’t think it’s smart to drill holes in wheels if your using it to drive on the road.

So I have a set of Black Rhinos on my RL. Stock tire size and wheel. What would you suggest if I am keeping wheels and tires stock? I would just like a better stance look with adapters. 3 inch left after that.
@RenegadeHQ
@RenegadeHQ 2 жыл бұрын
If you get a little bit wider tire your stance will look better. Stock struts won’t allow you to go as big on tires as I was saying in the video. If you going to use adapters be sure to get “hub centric” ones. Is still going to put more strain on your bearings and components and ware them out faster though.

I was thinking about 1/2 inch hub centric spacers for my 2011. I am on stock suspension though as I just got it about a month ago. But I did get a set of wheels from a 2021 Ridgeline. Suggestions?

It all depends on what your wanting your setup to look like really. I liked the look of mine sticking out a bit.

Coming from a guy that's been using adapters for over 5 years: do your research! Knowing what type of setup your rig has is very important. And if you learn what the terms mean that your researching about can come into play with all kinds of different types of setups that you can possibly have. Just because you can get something to work doesn't mean that it's anywhere near safe enough to use. Actions like this can lead to hurting yourself or members of your family or members of some other family. Not to mention the damage that you're going to cost to the vehicle because there is no successful hack job. At some point it's going to fail or the person that is done is going to continue to come up with more hack jobs to try to get it back on the road. Stuff like this drives me crazy because typically someone else if not more people are helping them complete a hack job task and then one hack job artist turns into a group of hack job artists. Learn to do it the right way. Guess work is exactly that. I can only imagine how fast the guy went through tires. That is total BS. If you can't get the normal lifespan out of a set of tires you're doing it wrong. Put the hammer down. And go screw something else up. -KG

They worked pretty darn well for 1.5 yrs. I just wanted something a bit more smooth. The wheels weren’t for this truck either so there is that factor also. Overall it worked really well. But It takes a lot of “adapting” to get a ridgeline set up like this so it’s a learning curve for sure. Cheers bro! Keep killing it!
