the way you described Raven's bass is exactly what I experienced with my old Sony ier z1r which means Raven is the best upgrade for me the thing i hate with the z1r is the upper mids it seems like Raven has better upper mids The best source for a Raven is a near neutral source so it doesn't boost anything

The comparison between Phonix and Raven is pretty similar between that of Phonix and Odin. Raven is fast, exciting, and sort of in your face with the technical performance. Phonix is more relaxed with a richer midrange and more subtle delivery, but with the same level of detail and resolution as Raven. Because Raven has an edge in the low-end and warmth when compared to Odin, it might win over a few more people who loved the technical aspects of Odin, but found it to be a little too clinical at times.

thanks for the review. how does it compare to audio64 u12t as far as size is concern. I have no problems using U12t for 3 to 4 hrs at a time. Does raven sounds better than u12T? I was planning to buy Odin, but i want to wait for raven's review. It helped me to decide when i bought u12t.

Sure thing, in terms of fit, Raven is a bit bigger than U12t, but personally I haven't had much trouble with the fit and we haven't received complaints about fit since these started shipping. In terms of sound, it does share some characteristics with U12t, but with more subbass focus, and a larger soundstage and even more holographic imaging. Odin is again - similar - but with a little less bass overall and Odin's soundstage is more comparable to U12t than Raven's larger stage.

As someone with a U12t and the Raven, the Raven absolutely destroys the U12t.

Hey Can you please share your thoughts how Ravens compare to Xenon 6 for rock and metal. I am a bit of a treblehead. Awaiting your response.

If you're a treble-head, the Raven is going to be the better bet - possibly even the Odin. Xenon6 is my preference for powerful bass for rock and metal, and - while the treble is great as well - it's not going to come off as strongly emphasized or prominent in the mix. Raven has a bit more treble presence and is still strong for rock and metal.

How does the balance compare to the Odyssey? Specifically in the bass side.

The bass is in between Odin and Odyssey, but for me, where Odyssey was slightly warm, I find Raven to still be slightly bright, but very well balanced. A more reference/neutral source will give you a slightly more bright sound, while a warm source might have you feeling like there's some basshead-like tendencies to Raven.

Aura are warm balanced armature’s drivers without loosing resolution with a big soundstage Raven have much to much bass therefore not natural sounding but also a huge soundstage They are both flagships so overall great iems nevertheless i think you should personally listen to them before buying

Is it same treble as detailed king of Odin? Compare to noble viking how? Pls i keen the answer 🙏

The treble is very close to Odin, but it's slightly reduced in the upper mids. Ragnar has a bit more clarity/definition, but can also be a little too sharp, where I think Raven is better controlled.

That 2ohm imp gonna fuc up so many pairings though. Considering that elusive rule of thumb that output impedence should be 8 times less than your headphone's impedence. Ps - love the insane quality of the videos. Perfect video setting no doubt 👏 Only things i can think of that wasn't present was depth of Soundstage comparison because let's be honest these flagship iems should do depth far better than most. Also you can think about mirroring yourself in editing so the hand location corresponds to right way for explaining treble for eg.

1:40 I was trying to get the 64 Audio U12T but now the Raven seems a better choice that 2DD W9 dynamic driver will give me bass rumble

U12T are ideal to fall asleep to from sheer boredom, solid decision IMO.

Audiophile life sounds a bit of a nightmare. I’m looking at Dap’s. Then looking at headphones. Then see that even headphone cables can make a difference and can be expensive. 2 variables, DAP and headphone, I can deal with. But 3, that’s a rabbit hole I don’t think I want to scurry down

There's definitely a wide range of "audiophiles" out there. The big question is whether you're someone who can have headphones and a player that are unquestionably excellent and say "Wow. This is amazing! I could probably enjoy listening to this for the rest of my life!" or someone who would say "This sounds great, but I wonder if it would sound better if..." :)

3:00 I love bigger IEMs fit issue is not about the size, it is about the design in comp., the Monarch MK3 is big but it is as comfy as the smaller Monarch MK2

Hard to say definitively - both are excellent. Raven has stronger imaging and a wider stage, but Radon is more natural and has a little more of a warm characteristic.

Comparing Odin to IER Z1R side by side Odin does not have the soundstage depth and 3Dish feel that the IER Z1R have Will lookout for Raven

Ok, defined high mids was the main reason I bought Odin 2.5 years ago. If they trimmed them down, I'll have to stick with Odin.

You should record the sound, so the audience can feel a little bit different like from oluv's gadgets You say and say, don't make sense.

We are looking into options for creating our own measurements in house and publishing the graphs as part of our reviews, but there are so many factors involved in recording different IEMs as a method of comparison (characteristics of the mic not capturing characteristics of the IEMs, differences in the speakers and headphones people are watching the videos on...) that we don't feel that it's a good investment for our channel. I do appreciate channels like oluv's gadgets that take these sort of creative, innovative approaches to things.

Thanks for the great review. I had the opportunity to listen to the Raven alongside the Odin and the Legend Evo at Canjam London least weekend. I loved the Odin and enjoyed the Evo. Sadly, I found the base on the Raven overwhelming and intrusive. This surprised me. I had been considering getting a set. It may be that others will like the tuning, but personally, I could not recommend the Raven.

I used the tips from my current IEM and made sure I got a deep insertion. It is entirely possible that it is just not an IEM for me. My only caution to most people considering it, would be not to buy it blind unless you are sure that you would like the sound signature.

Sadly this iem is totally unbalanced in the frequency, much too much bass, compared to the rest and the high frequency is really bad unnatural sounding.. incredible sound stage
