@@BilboSandbaggins for lakes I usually run a worm with a chunk of power bait under a bobber. Or the squishy power bait balls on a California rig. Douse everything with some garlic scent. Kastmaster spoon works good too.

Nothing like fishing new places. Brings me back to when I was in the Marines. I fished everywhere I was sent. Including Iraq. It's cool being able to say that I am one of the only Americans that I know of that has fished the Tigris and Euphrates rivers.

If you're not as excited about catching little fish as you are big fish like Jordan here then you're not a fisherman!🎣💪😂 Some of the smallest fish I've caught have been the most colored/beautiful gems in the most amazing surroundings not unlike this Patagonia setting. Love your commentary and excitement brother!

@Potato Eater probably the most wild river in California besides some undamed coastal rivers. Browns in that river look like atlantic salmon and run bigger than atlantic salmon.

You guys need to do some hike in brown trout fishing. You never go after browns and there is 10+ lb browns all over your home state. I feel like people would enjoy watching you catch big browns in a secluded wilderness lake.

Fire tiger is my favorite Rooster Tail too. It’s always the first one I tie on and usually the first one to get snagged and broken off, but it catches some nice fish so I keep buying new ones 😂

Sometimes I'll throw a 1/80 oz panfish jig on a tenkara rod. It's more like keiryu fishing but it works insanely well for multispecies. I'd love to fish this place with my 18 foot Keiryu rod. I wish I'd thought to suggest it. If I'd known what the first body of water was gonna be. Besides, those rods travel really well.

It is so cool how even though they are all the same species of trout you can really tell the difference when you look at them depending on where you are at in the world. An ohio stocked brown really does look different than a western wild and a brown in tierra del fuego looks all its own as well.

The fish he thought was a salmon smolt looked like a McCloud strain rainbow. Caught a few in the McCloud this fall and they looked exactly like it. 🤘

those are mcleod river rainbow trout from right here in northern california. introduced to the rivers in chili in the 50s

Always look forward to each Jordan adventure. 99.9% of us watching will never touch these streams and would love to be able to map the rivers/streams your hitting. Please consider naming them so us nerds can place you geographically. It would add depth to the video. Not like a horde of addicts are going to show up and blow up your spots.

as one of the best trout fishermen in the world, they always got peter weeds fishing on youtube..... Yeah, we the best like to keep our practices under wraps.... can't go to Patagonia or Alaska they caught me there in both places when I had to be airlifted i was dehydrated ( even though i thought the leak in my waders would surely hydrate me ) they gave me a potassium drip put burn ointment on my left hand and wrist put my right shoulder back in place and caught me leaving the hospital going back to the river.... it took 2 years for the fish to start back biting fully ... they told me i would be hanged if i ever returned.... and out of all that i never let them look into my tackle bag.... and i never got to break out my fly rod this was all done on a spinning reel....

5:42 Not to be a jerk, but that's not firetiger. That's called the Yellow Jacket. I guess it's supposed to look like a wasp. Rooster Tail's Firetiger has a green and orange body with a thin yellow line between those colors and it has a chartreuse tail. Just wanted to let anyone know who is looking to buy one.
