In today's video we are adding a roof to our mobile home that will cover our deck. This is an easy way to add a roof to an existing deck with minimal tools needed. This is a very strong roof and made to last! Let's go!

Hi Sam and Angela. Have you thought of putting gutters on the edges of the roof and capturing the rain water? With a long hose, Angela can water the plants. Way to go Elijah. Your new construction company name, Elijah, Mom, and Dad Construction.

I've heard that the older generations in the South used to paint their underside of their porch roofs a light blue to imitate(I think) the color of the sky, and it would deter bees and wasps from making nests up there! Don't know why it works but they swore by it! Just a thought.😊❤

LOVE this channel and this family! And how refreshing to see a young son help his dad! I don’t see this on a lot of channels. Of course it doesn’t mean they’re not helping when the cameras are off. But in this case, it’s nice to see Elijah being part of a job and helping dad! He’ll always be able to say, “I helped my dad build that when I was a kid!” 🥰

Such an improvement to any house and deck. The sun won't have as much chance to be so shiny on you so you can enjoy your outside experiences. Love those boys too. Elisha is learning another valuable skill . Your younger boy will catch up on work details when he is just a little older. I love your videos and I always look for another one. Very creative solution for connecting the first two posts to the deck structure. At first glance, I’m not totally convinced the bracket to post connections are sufficient to prevent uplift in a windstorm.

I love it, don't like a deck without roof, too hot. You can sit out when it's raining. Can grill out if it's raining too. Looks good.

The on ridge versus flat issue comes from there being two profiles for panel roofs called corrugated. The newer style (not new) like you're using, and an older style that is shaped like the middle layer of a shipping box. The older style has no flat areas so to avoid trapping water the screws go into the ridges. Plastic and fiberglass for greenhouses can be found in the older shape also.

Great job folks. May I add one suggestion please? We have noticed at our place that wasps love to make nests under the roof transition strips. I would recommend adding a filler foam strip to prevent this. Not being critical but just offering personal advice.
