Adding Sound Dampening to my Triumph Scrambler 1200 Skid Plate

I will be adding Canopus Sound Deadening material to the skid plate of my Triumph to see if there is a noticeable difference in the engine noise.

I do for sure, my exhaust is stock. It sounds great, plus it’s not annoyingly loud while riding. Why swap out the exhaust and listen to all that noise when you’re riding? It’s not my age because I didn’t like it in my twenties. The deep sound of an exhaust is good, but that open pipe sound is not for me.

That flutter 4:58 is the fuel injection. The more miles you put on, the quieter the flutter gets. I have 17,XXX miles on my 1200XE, and the noise is negligible…also, you chose one of the best LOUD motorcycles out there 😆. My concern immediately is cooling…that sound deadening is going to keep all that bottom end heat trapped down there. Seems like a L trade off IMO. Ride on!

I added this to my 1200 XC, but I didn’t notice the difference like you experience. The noise coming from the engine still sounds like it doesn’t have the sound dampening. Still hear that metallic sound as you describe it. I did not test it before hand like you did, but I’m assuming it’s working. Maybe I’ll notice it when I ride it.

Howdy... is that material heat resistant? I live in Texas and it seems like it would start smoldering while riding around town in the summer...hahaha... Cheers!

It seems to be. It gets very tacky when heated but hasn't melted
