I wouldn’t say 0%. Southgate is gone after the euros anyway so if Eddie was offered the England job do you think he would turn it down? I don’t think so. If Newcastle were in a cup final tomorrow give me Mourinho over Howe every time. He’s a winner, I’m not slating Eddie either it’s just Mourinho is a different level of manager. Eddie Howe is a very very good coach he improves players but I don’t see him as manager who will win you trophies.

I don't want Eddie to leave id love to see what he can do next season without all the injuries BUT he gets a lot of pressure from media and pundits not nufc fans and in the back of his head he might just be thinking that if he gets the England offer he might take it to avoid being sacked if things don't start well next season . I wouldn't hold it against him either because no one could have done a better job for nufc than he has.

@@gettobythesea I can't see Howe wanting to take a national team job for a long time yet as his strength is being on the training ground every day with players developing them. Maybe in the future, but not anytime soon. Mourinho might sound like a good match but I honestly couldn't think of a worse match. He's a great manager and I'm sure there was a time where it'd made sense given Bobby's Robson's links but there's not a chance he manages to get anywhere near the tune out of players like Longstaff, Burn, Schar, Joelinton, Murphy, Almiron and more that Howe has managed. Howe doesn't go anywhere as far as I'm concerned and the majority of the fanbase are on that same page.

Add to this our focus on bringing youth through, building from the bottom up. Jose is infamous on his inability to trust youth coming though. Think anyone that wants Mourinho to take charge is an idiot. "Can't see Eddie winning a trophy" with that mentality he'll never get a chance. The runs we had this season were a joke, the season before he got us into a final that we lost in a pretty even game (Our first final in recent memory). Its always been the same with the southern media. Just think about it! EVERY manager who has done a decent job for Newcastle gets hounded and gets pressure from them but every manager thats been shite and kept Newcastle bottom of the league gets praised "Oh they did a good job keeping them up etc" They don't want more competition in the league and would love us to just go back to making up the numbers at the bottom of the league.
