We didn't have the players to press he claims - the stark contrast in the second half of 21/22 says otherwise; yes trippier, burfn & bruno arrived, but the biggest difference was that the playrs were regularly training under Eddie Howe; several players later stated publicly that Bruce had them unfit to play 90 minutes, conceding 9 goals after 60+ minutes in 8 games before he was sacked

what a load of rubbish. yes he was at the club when the ownership was not great. but that doesn't change the fact that he didn't deserve the job when he was offered it and didn't do a single thing during his time at the club in terms of performances to prove that he did deserve it. We weren't hard to beat like he describes, were beaten countless ties by 3 or 4 goals with no reply. he was lucky the ownership was the way it was as he would have NEVER EVER got the job without it.

Under Rafa, Newcastle were tough to beat. Bruce’s attitude stinks, he LOVES being the victim, absolutely loves it. A lot of his time at Newcastle there were no crowds because of lockdowns. There were rumours coming out from the club that he was giving the squad random days off through the week while he’d jet off on holiday ☀️ He lives in Surrey I believe and never moved back to the NE, even while managing Newcastle. Just like Mike Ashley, he wasn’t committed to getting the most out of the club and has turned into a fraud of a manager. Yet his mates in the media prop him up as a great guy and an unlucky manager 🤦🏻‍♂️

yes we were tough to beat - but our scoring stats suffered for it; we were like Everton now. Poor steve Bruce, he got paid millions for doing such a poor job, and now we should all appreciate his efforts? What a liar, he got caught telling lies on a regular basis, but that gets swept under the carpet by his mates in the media, and as for him saying he was dealt a bad hand with players, hes basically trying to pull the wool over peoples eyes again, because out of all the Newcastle managers, he was the one that actually got a decent amount for new players (around one hundred and twenty million) and made the team look pathetic. He played joelinton as a lone striker and ruined the kid, and if not for Eddie Howe he would of went down as our worst transfer ever. He lied saying he was the one that told Amanda Stavley to hire Eddie Howe when famously making fun of Howes appointment saying, "that bloke who took Bournemouth down".

Schar barely played under him and neither did Longstaff. The best managers find solutions and get the best out of players. The average ones look for excuses and don't look in the mirror.

Great point. He's always lauded as some kind of great businessman, utter BS. So many opportunities to grow the club that he just didn't take, because he couldn't think of them, and surrounded himself with 'yes' men unqualified for their roles. What is Lee Charnley doing now? Derek Llambias? Absolute joke. Ashley happened to be in the right place at the right time and was a one-trick pony in retail where he'd buy a cheap sports brand and make it look good value alongside Nike/Adidas gear, that's the only clever thing he did.
