Hello KZfaq. Eddie here, and I am a woodworking hobbyist. I am not a woodworking professional as you will soon realize. Yes, I make mistakes and often times have no idea what I am doing, and that's OK. I love woodworking and I learn something new every time I build something. Please DO NOT practice any of my techniques. I am not an expert in tool safety. In fact, I sent my thumb through my Table Saw blade. Please read and understand all of the safety material included with your own tools. If you are a hobbyist and want to learn something from others like me, kick back, crack a can, and let's learn from each other. Enjoy the video. Thanks guys.

Enjoyed the video. Liked the shop. Like most of us, we have storage for any and everything in the shop and we are typically working around something. Much more real world look and feel with the tools than some of these videos where everyone as a $3000 table saw, $2000 band saw, planers, joiners, etc. Thanks.

They look great! For those who don't have a router a table sander would be easy to clean up edges to the cut line. I actually think it is quicker with a drum sander since you have to sand when done with parts anyway.

A tip on sticking a template to the piece to be cut is to use regular masking tape on both pieces and CA glue to bond it together. Holds really well and pulls apart easily. Thanks for the video, I'll be making some these this winter.

Bravo Zulu on the Chairs! I just ordered a template pack from Rockler to make a few of my own. I actually built several similar chairs decades ago and they are looking rather bad, so it's time to replace them. I could just take one of them apart and use it for a template, but this design seems a bit 'dressier' if you will. Well done.

Thank you, Ed. Looks BETTER than ANY of the Adirondack chairs here in the Gateway to the Adirondacks in the Mohawk Valley. My choice would have been to leave it natural, as well. Enjoy the game and a few refreshments. I would bring you down a couple two or tree 6 packs of ( as we Italian Americans say up here) Saranacs and down them with you if I could. Adirondack beer drunk while relaxing side by side with a good friend in beautiful Adirondack chairs hand crafted by the Woodworking Hack...doesn't get any better than that! Take care.

First and foremost, thanks for your service. I am making a set of these chairs from the same plans, but I decided to go with cheap Lowes pine lumber and the most expensive oil paint money can buy to try to keep them from rotting! It is a lot of work, and once I started I quickly realized I should have ponied up for good wood, its the same amount of work either way right!?! The wifey wanted white chairs, and I have a good HVLP sprayer, so that's the route I took. I really wanted to comment on how much I appreciate your video. Today I completed painting ops, and this week I will move on to assembly. The entire time I have been doing this build, I kept trying to imagine just how much more work it would be to do it with cameras, microphones, and all the production parts. Just wanted you to know it is appreciated.

Wanted to provide an update on my chairs. The best oil primer and oil paint were no match for the Florida heat and rainy seasons. After 2 years one of my chairs was invaded by carpenter ants and I doubt I can repair it. The other chair is hanging in there, but it too will fail soon. If you are going to do this build, you just have to go with the good materials. I considered trying a build with pressure treated lumber and letting all the parts dry in the sun for a month before painting, but haven't done it yet. Perhaps my winter project!

@TheWoodworkingHack
@TheWoodworkingHack 5 жыл бұрын
@@kevinwhitton6595 sorry to say, but I think your Lumber store is crazy...the Original Adirondacks where made of cedar. House siding is made of cedar...bird houses are made of cedar. Why? because it won't rot. Chairs are sturdy and beautiful and will last 20 years outside.

No idea how you didn't get whacked running that wood through the router table in the same direction the router spins. Normally it just grabs the wood and throws it at you. Hey Eddie, don't want a be a PIA but, did you look at what you used, are they #8 #9 #10 #12 brass screws 2" or 1-1/2"? Just wanted to know what you used and how they're holding up.... I made my own design and am ready for screws , I made my chairs from a bunch of free plans and watching a bunch of videos like yours. I've built my chairs from cumaru from homecheapo sold as "5/4 in. x 6 in. x 8 ft. Tropical Hardwood Decking Board". I agreed with you that the brass would look the best....! Thanks for the video any any other info you can give me. I will/have been making templates from this build.

I am in the process of building a couple of those right now with Rocklers WAY overpriced plans and templates. Good grief! I bought mine on sale and the cardboard was still $15. I think the Rockler plans are the best looking plans out there, so I am ok paying a few bucks more. Yes, this is a lot of work, it is complex. If it was easy, no one would want or care about these chairs. Not sure what you mean about my tools, I have most everything I need and I keep them all in my workshop. I usually buy new tools over the last 20 years I've been doing this. I don't have many of the original boxes my tools came in.
