Just put a boost tap on the turbo alot cheaper dont mess with the fuel pump to much unless you want problems within the next year or so.

Shame about the music.... So how does this increase the potential to damage the engine? Is there any other tuning adjustment needed to compensate for the increased fuel? If your diesel is smoking lots there's something damaged/old, not right. My 4jb1t has done 270 000 km and has almost zero smoke hot or cold running.

Black smoke isnt bad for the engine in a diesel. It just means the engine gets more fuel then it can burn, becouse it doesent get enought air or something to match it. You get worse milage, but no harm to a diesel

And it's not required for a diesel as it just takes in the extra boost on the next intake stroke... Run a straight pipe and an adjustable wastegate on the turbo if you like the whistle/whoosh sound the bov would give you, I'm running an Arashi

It could cause a runaway situation, which would cause the engine to start burning it's oil as fuel until it is cooked internally. At which point it will need a rebuild...

Not really required, if the turbo is properly waste gated, a blow off valve is just a noise maker that takes air out of the next engine stroke. Unlike a gas engine the extra boosted air just gets sucked into the engine on the next stroke BC diesels don't really have a throttle body to slam closed...so not need to vent

4jh1 should be common rail fuel pump... Which is totally different, many people do a 4jb1 pump swap and then yes it would be the same...
