Adjustable Zero Clearance Plate MATCHFIT Table Saw Crosscut Sled

Waited way too long to show how I made this ‪@Microjig‬ MATCHFIT crosscut sled for my table saw with an adjustable zero clearance insert, but I’ve using it nonstop for six months and it’s been a game changer for my woodshop. Hopefully it’ll help out in yours as well, feel free to reach out with any questions. Shoutout to Radek ‪@RadeksWorkshop‬ for the inspiration with the insert!

Thank bro! Yeah if my arms were a bit longer it would be easier to access that rear screw lol.

That is a different approach to an adjustable clearance insert. I like it! Your construction with 2 separate base pieces was very reassuring. I bought material for my base yesterday and need to use that approach.

This is an amazing how to video. I tip my hat to you. You routed the dovetail slots perpendicular to the front & back fence. How do you get the dovetail clamps in these slots? Did I miss something in the video?

What kind of wood did you use for the front and back fence?

Some old Western Red Cedar I had, was super stable and I wanted to keep weight down.

Curious what is high density MDF? You mentioned you used 3/4 MDF in a comment. Can you clarify if its just MDF or something else?

My mistake for the confusing comment, I used high density MDF (or HDF, as some call it). It's basically just more compact particle board compared to typical MDF particle board. This makes it stronger, heavier, and more water resistant . I've seen other use regular MDF for the MatchFit system and it usually doesn't hold up well.

@@asadiqbal01 No problem, I bought mine from Home Depot, but I know some big box stores don't carry it certain areas. Should be able to find locally at a plywood store though, some refer to it as High Density Particle Board too.
