Dude adhd is not a disability, it's a trait that makes it much harder to exist in our current world because our brain is wired completely differently. This doesn't make us sick or disabled of in need of fixing. We just aren't taught the right mechanisms to deal with ourselves. Or you're a demigod and it's your battlefield reflexes. Choose one

I have ADHD too, and I could never read books without getting distracted midway, but I completed the whole Percy Jackson series without getting overwhelmed! I love the way I could imagine things. That was the first time I enjoyed reading novels!

I really like how this series incorporates ADHD and dyslexia in a way that not only normalizes them but also puts kids who might struggle with reading in a position where they can see themselves reflected on paper as heroic.

Ooh interesting ^^ I just recently got into Percy Jackson and I read all 5 books plus the latest 4 and I gotta say I love the series just as much as I loved Harry Potter. Both different heroes with very different backgrounds and very different tasks. I love them and I can't wait for the final book to come out :)

The Percy Jackson series will always be in my heart. I read them in 4th grade and I remember them chapter by chapter, the other day some girl in my class mentioned it and we talked about the books for about three hours. I'm in 10th grade and we both knew all the books basically chapter by chapter

Rick Riordan is such an inspiration to me as a young writer in Middle School. He is truly a genius with the way he writes, and I hope to be like him someday. If I ever meet him and his son, I'm going to thank them a million times for writing the Percy Jackson series and the Heroes of Olympus.

I love Rick Riordan's books I recently got into percy Jackson after finding magnus chase. He's the only author I'll ever read, I've read two of his books in a week. I'm not a reader but if I read a book I'll want to read more and can't stop.

Rick was ahead of his time. ADHD is apparently now hypothesised as an adaptation for hunter-gatherer societies that sharpen combat instincts.

Rick Riordan is the reason I want to work in fiction writing and editing. To be able to work with such a passionate, caring, and dedicated writer such as Rick is an experience I’ve always dreamed of. Books like his inspire people to do great things that they never thought they could. Thank you for all your work, Rick! The first time I read the lightning their was 4 years ago, when I received the book from my best friend. I freakin loved that book!!! I hated reading at the time, but I seriously just loved that book!!! I got even more enthusiastic when the sea of monsters came out and so on. RICK IS THE BEST AUTHOR EVER

the only books Ive ever read willingly (so, not counting books Ive had to read for school) were the Percy Jackson series. Not even ashamed about it tbh. This guy has to be the GOAT author, he literally made a young adult, entirely fiction/fantasy book series POPULAR among the general population of kids in schools

I can relate with Rick Riordan's son. I hated doing any academic subject, and despised reading and writing with a passion. The only subject I excelled in was in the arts. And now, the ironic thing is, is now I'm writing my own stories and adore reading!!

anyone else want to like give his son a medal or something; percy jackson is like my favortie series ever. i started the series when i was 12. The second book, i believe, had just come out. i read that one first (oops) and fell in love with it. we had also just finished a greek mythology unit. between that and Riordan's book, I'm now applying to college for a major in Greek and Roman Studies. :-)
