Hahaha, the books are targeted towards kids and teenagers around 12 and 13 . You can tell that just from the difficulty of reading. There is nothing wrong with liking it as an adult but he said it himself his target was kids that couldn't get themselves to like or read books. In all honesty the story is beautifully created. I would still read the book at 50 or 60. Sure, there are things that this series can't give to the more mature audiences but it can still engage a reader and draw you into the world.

@@lil_taggy990 I know I am late. Sorry about the long comment but I don't know how to explain it well enough in a short comment. As a stand alone movies it was pretty good. But as book adaptions it was very unfaithful. They changed so much that a lot of the Percy Jackson fans found it was completely different than the books. Almost the whole story was changed. The cast members personality and appearance was very different. That is why most fans of the books do not like the movies. A lot of stuff was wrong with both movies. The second movie took parts from the later books and put it into the Sea of monsters instead of adding elements from the actual book that it came from. And the second movie also changed Kronos. Because Luke's body is used. Personally I like how Percy meets Tyson in the book better than in the movie. The cast members didn't even know hardly anything about the books, if anything. You could tell from the interviews. A lot of stuff was wrong in the movies but I won't put them all down because it will take up too much time. And if you've read the books you would probably already know.

@@clubysoda1358 Rick Riordan does not like the movies which is why he is making a faithful live-action tv series adaption for Disney plus that he will be involved in. Rick was not involved in the movies which is why so much was changed probably.
