Yep I built a box under my deck and every year they come and put a nest in there right now it looks like the mother father is trying to teach the babies to fly turn on my deck everyday hopping around I got the hummingbirds I got the Cardinals but I do have 10 house finches or more it seems like cuz every year they come and have their babies

What's you're secret man? I got the bird feeders full of black sun flower seed. And the bird bath stays with clean water. Right outside my window it stays busy from sun up till sun down. I got a couple bird houses around the yard but no birds want to live in them idk why I wish to watch the process of birds building nest and having young it's so Facinelli

Yes the Dad brings food for Mom while she is sitting on the eggs. And he brings food afterward for the babies

I have a lot of house funches at my feeder. They're pretty birds. Was mom chewing up the hatched shells and feeding it to the babies? It looked like she was, but I thought that birds usually throw them out?

Love the video, I have a nest of house finches 3 babies in the nest, the nest is in my hanging fern plant the babies have a little more fur/hair 😀 now,, I haven't seen Mom back and forth I'm starting to worry,, course I can't watch them but a short time certain times of the day, could she be coming when I'm not seeing her or him?

That is awesome! If the eggs have hatched, both parents are probably going back and forth. But they are quick about it

The finches around me tend to get taken out by the crows. I'm curious about your nest box & set up for finches. Is the nest in a protected location?

This nest is on my front porch up under the eve. So yes it is protected, but it's not inside a nest box
