Don't get fooled by the trailer. It doesn't show as much as you think, and the movie is really good, well shot and put together. It alternates between the beginning of their romance on land and the moments on the boat in the aftermath of the hurricane so there's a real contrast and it makes it even more painful to watch. Truly beautiful, I cried like a baby especially at the end. The real woman is so brave...

This trailer doesn't do the justice. The actual movie is way better than the trailer. This movie is one of the best movies i have seen in recent years. The storyline, the filming, the acting, and the effects all comes together to give the most immersive experience, as if I were on the boat with Tami. It gave me goosebumps for real, and it is so touching at the end. I love this movie and i will watch it again.

okay, the screenwriters had AMAZING attention to detail. I'm reading Tami's book, and she mentions that the first dinner she had with Richard, he eats "the European way" - holding a knife and fork at the same time, with his fork upside down. The trailer shows his character eating that way too.

I love how the actors worked so hard for this film to be authentic, and I like that they didn't glamorise it too much, like when they're starving, tired and injured all that ages you, and they didn't keep they looking all fresh which a lot of movies have done

Ever since I saw the first trailer, I knew that Woodley would do great in this movie. I was not let down. It's great that she moved on from the whole Divergent mess. She let's her talent show in this film and she might be the best part of the movie.

Spoiler alert!!! He was never with her in the 41 days adrift,he was swept away in the starting of the hurricane,she was hallucinating him all the day till the end which made her want to live and give some hope to survive.

Apparently the real woman Tami was heavily involved when they were writing the script for this movie so any assumptions that they “changed the story to a romance” is false because what was in the film is what she approved over when they adapted her novel

It wasn't her "novel" it was her autobiography of events. Her fiancé died IRL. She was knocked unconscious for 29 hours right as she was going down to the cabin to rest, when a massive rogue wave hit.

I rarely watch movies more than once with only a few exceptions, this being one of them. Shailene Woodley performance is something else and it is beyond me why she wasn't nominated for any awards in it. I love movies based on true stories and this is one of the best.
