I know its a joke, but I'm actually all for a Carl and Perry series. It has this really interesting "unintentionally creepy" effect with how, despite nothing actually "disturbing" being shown, it still comes off as kind of ominous and unnerving. It's something I really dig and, even thought the joke is that it's supposed to be boring, it legit really interests me.

This is so unnerving. I can't even fully describe the sense of dystopic dread that this conveys. People so engrossed in consumerism and the pursuit of happiness that they don't even realise that it's the very reason they're miserable in the first place. So much is conveyed with so little. Well done.

Adult Steak Observations: Carl's initial meal is a an entire roast chicken with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy. It becomes a pile of adult steaks that ever increases in height. Every time a bite is taken out of an adult steak that bite vanishes implying that adult steaks regenerate, and considering Carl's pile keeps growing higher perhaps adult steaks even reproduce. Perry only ever has one adult steak on his plate, but another can be seen hovering in the air above. I assume this is because Perry does not want his food items to be touching each other, perhaps in an effort to prevent his adult steaks from multiplying. Regardless it does not look like Carl and Perry will be finishing this meal anytime soon. Hopefully they can get a [nothing] bag so they can take their meal home when they are full. Granted, I'm not sure even rapidly multiplying adult steaks can fill the emptiness inside.

This is honestly a surprisingly genuine commentary on the commercialization of medicine. If anything the moral of the story IS to rely more on doctors' opinions than what you see on tv, which is a good and solid message to spread
@Prof_Pangloss
@Prof_Pangloss 2 жыл бұрын
True.. but with the caveat that some doctors are straight up in the pocket of pharmaceutical companies. See also: the opioid crisis in America was wholly manufactured by a corporation that sells painkillers, which paid doctors to prescribe higher dosages than necessary. We simultaneously need to trust expertise over marketing, while questioning whether that expertise is itself corrupted by marketing. What an exhausting country.

11/10 rating.The storyline was simply incredible, and moved me beyond almost any form of media I have ever seen.The scenes were absolutely gorgeous, full of color and no assets ever contrasting.Along with these, the characters were well developed and kept me entertained and engaged.Simply a masterpiece of its time, I wish I could wipe all of my memories of this to rewatch the beauty with no spoilers.

The social commentary is quite amazing. It really is a feat, showing how unfair and prejudiced the medicinal economy is in America, with its hostile advertising and overpriced necessities, into two squares named Carl and Perry. (If they were named anything else, it wouldn’t have been the same. I mean, imagine a square named John talking about taxes.)
