Key West Part 3 - Harbor Walk

We wrap up our Key West trip with brunch at the infamous Blue Heaven restaurant followed by a tour of Key West’s marina district and harbor walk. We get to see charter boats, shops, restaurants and lots and lots of dinghy’s as well as Admiral Brigitt’s debut on narrating one of our videos!

I know this sounds weird but there is a grave yard in key west with the most amusing head stones. One is a husband and wife and the husband posted I told you I was sick. The wife had an equally entertaining rebuttal. It was an unusual thing to visit but enjoyable.

You need to go there at the end of October for Fantasy fest and then the week after are the offshore powerboat races

Yes we loved it! Sammy Miami is the best and although the rooms are small it’s a quaint pool area and very close to Duval st.

Nice trip to Key West. Do you think you might plan a trip to Fort Jefferson with Happy Ours? The Dry Tortugas is a great place to check out.

@@AdventuresofHappyOurs Got it. If you are stay over for a couple of nights on your next visit, consider taking the ferry to the Fort. It's a full day trip, but a cool place if you like a bit of history. It's like Fort Zach, but so much bigger with a moat!

We’re looking for something like that. I need to keep the weight down though. It’s tough to muscle on the swim deck.

Hi there. I just discovered your channel. Really like the videos. I'm looking to upgrade from a 21' center console to a cruiser to do excursions. Do you have any advice on minimum size to do overnight or weekend trips? I was looking for 29' - 31'. I boat in NJ. Thanks.

We were comfortable on a 27’ cruiser for extended weekends. We slept in the v berth for more room and stored our stuff in the small mid cabin. We didn’t have a generator but most nights were fine with a dc run fan. All depends on your ability to “rough it”. - boat camping. Lol

Do you recommend one manufacturer in the 28' range over another? How are the Regal boats?

Some manufacturers build more sturdy boats that handle seas better, some have better creature comforts. The main differences are in the motors and drive systems. I avoid I/O engine setups in salt water if possible unless you tow or have a lift. Barnacle gets in everywhere and it’s difficult to keep an IO clean when in the water full time.

Nothing wrong with Regals. They are typical cruisers. If you like a boat and it is in good shape, you’ll do fine.
