Advocates say Israel's jails are full of Palestinians being held without charge under what’s known as administrative detention, with some alleging the surge in arrests is collective punishment for the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks.

Israel was founded on the violent dispossession of the indigenous Arab population. Over the decades, it has made a compromise peace impossible by pursuing a brutal and illegal policy of territorial expansion. In seeking to dominate and displace the Palestinians, it has committed a catalogue of barbarities. Is that what you support? Isn't there a crucial distinction to be made between 'the Jews' and the ruthlessly aggressive state of Israel?
