My take on what he was saying is that these kinds of limitations and the sense of inadequacy you express are noteworthy and, if you pay attention, they are both a recognition and doorway presenting itself. Otherwise they are merely a story that you simply believe to be true. You go on from there without noticing the opportunity you are presenting to yourself by even thinking them or saying them. The default is to be unconscious about it and follow the story line because it seems to be compelling. So, maybe you can find some homework in the contemplation of that and notice the way mind works. That can allow potential to emerge when you are ready.
