Just to clarify, I'm sure there is another side to it. I'm only commenting on how he must feel. Which he isnt stable and is really hurting so I can only imagine how he must feel that his mom didnt come out and tell him she loved him or yell it from inside. It's just a sympathy vote. Not bashing his mom. :)

Very heartwarming. Although now he's going to be faced with a new challenge, that being the mental healthcare system. There are a lack of services to put it in simple terms, and many people cannot get the help they need as a result if it. Wait lists are unbelievably long, and many people get to see specialists only on a short term basis. Also, as a result of long term hospitals closing down in western countries, it causes short term acute care psychiatric wards to fill up, forcing doctors to discharge patients before they are ready. Governments need to fund more for mental healthcare, especially in western countries. People think that because it's a problem that is not physical and cannot be detected with the eye, that it must be less important. If we started to view mental ilness the same way we do with physical health, then situation will be different because everyone will be able to get the help they need, and, in the end, there will be less people being re admitted to hospital after they get discharged (the revolving door). I'm not saying that nobody gets the help they need, but the reality is unfortunate in that many people don't.

Well considering there was a door between them I think the cop probably felt he'd have ample time to blast the asshat if he came at him with the knifes.. plus it's kinda hard to get at a door latch holding something (a knife) in each hand.. But you are correct that there are still some cops that would feel threatened or at least that what they say when truth is more likely that most cops want an excuse to use their service weapon.. sad

God bless this and all the men and women in uniform both military and police. Yes there are bad apples in every profession but we shouldn't let the actions of a few sway our opinion of all. He handled this beautifully and with his heart, most do join the force because they care and want to help and make a positive difference in their communities.

That's an amazing police officer. Recognized right away the guy was having a break down and treated him like a human and made him feel important. Wtg officer. His whole team was amazing. They gave him time and didn't barge him.

Sometimes you're better off without family. If she really did say she wanted them to kill him then she's not good for his mental state, mother or not. Mothers have a lot of power and it's not always for good.
