Can you look inside the living brain and tell what someone is feeling? For the first time in history we have fMRI - a technology that promises to show the neurochemical traces of joy, rage, love and hate, as they cascade through the brain. Filmmaker Brent Hoff enlisted the Stanford Center for Cognitive Neurobiological Imaging to hold the world’s first ever ‘love competition’. Seven contestants had five minutes in an fMRI machine to love someone ‘as hard as they can’. The idea that love can be measured may seem deeply unromantic: the results were anything but.

Thanks so much for making this available! Not only has this been my favourite video of the series of hundreds I bought 10 years ago, but it's my favourite, ever. I first watched this on a series of DVDs from a positive video club (SCS)... I bought dozens of their compilations, 100's of videos... but this video has always stuck with me and has given me the knowledge of where/how to feel love in my body (because I practiced with these lovely people), and to even feel it when I want to. Priceless.

Can you guys try this out on people who love cartoon characters or video games characters to see if what they’re feeling really is love? I know I’m in love with Reese from Fortnite. I’ve never been more in love in my life. I’ve only been in love 3 times and this is my 3rd time. It’s the most intense time of being in love in my life.
