I was diagnosed with AERD (Samter's Triad aka Triad Asthma) over 10 years ago. I never had polyp surgery but I immediately got the aspirin desensitization and have taken aspirin every day since then. Since 10 years ago I have had the polyps block my sense of smell every 6 months or so and got a Methylprednisolone course to shrink the polyps. I have done this every 6 months or sometimes less, but recently I discovered that the dose of aspirin that I have taken every day for 10 years was insufficient to prevent the polyp growth and now I am taking four 325mg aspirin a day instead of just one like I have been doing. Hopefully this will prevent my polyp regrowth over the next few months.
