I always enjoy your videos. I am curious if you would consider showing how much products you need and how they hold up in your hair vs your daughter’s curl type/density for the same brands. Or if you would be interested in styling her hair on video. I like how you show us your 3 days on any new products you try out. Just may be idea if you want to revisit a product line to answer questions.

I’ll try to be more mindful of showing how much I use. I never really measure it out. I just go by feel because it varies depending on the products. I’d love to have my daughter on here more but she started a new job and they’re pretty strict about outside business so she has to ask if she’ll be able to do videos with me. My daughter’s hair is similar to mine, it’s coarse and high density. The biggest difference is curl pattern. The products that work well on my hair tend to also work well on hers. I am going to try to get a fine haired, wavy friend on here occasionally to show me styling her hair and how products work with hers as opposed to mine since there’s a bigger difference between our hair types. It’s hard to get people to go on camera though. 😊. Thank you for the feedback and thank you for watching!

Hi Michelle. I tried this this summer with the humidity. I found I had to layer another harder hold gel on top of the weather up gel for best results. We get weather in the 40s Celsius (104-120 Fahrenheit) with the humidity. Not all products of this line are available in 🇨🇦 but I typically only try out stylers as I like my Verb shampoo and conditioners.

Your hair held up great! Lately if I don't use protein gels I just get crap results. My hair has always done well with protein but lately it's very prone to over moisturizing where it used to be dry. Now only the very ends - like the bottom inch - can be dry sometimes. I'm getting away with less & less conditioner too, when I used to have to use a lot. 🤷

It really did! I was really impressed. Hair can be weird sometimes. Mine used to only like super hard hold gels but seems to be holding up well with lighter hold. I’m sure at some point it’ll flip a switch and go in a different direction. It’s possible yours might too. Thank you for watching!

Your hair looks fantastic! Would you recommend the black shampoo and white conditioner for low porosity, not fine but not course texture (but only have a little bit of it) hair? I really struggle with maintaining moisture even though I live in an ultra humid climate.
@CurlyChelle547
@CurlyChelle547 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The white conditioner will not be moisturizing enough based on that info. The products in the white are their least moisturizing. The black packaging is more moisturizing and I think that the black shampoo I tried would work well for you. I didn’t try the shampoo or conditioner in the red packaging, which is their ultimate hydration. But based on my experience with what I did try and the information about their ultimate hydration line, I think you might have better luck with the red conditioner. Or even the black one instead of the white one. Hope this helps! Thank you for watching!

Can you be please tell me again what product you used that wasn’t a Twist product to add protein? Also, when you add protein, is the purpose to add moisture? Bc mine can tend to dry out easily, but otherwise, I have similar hair thickness and curl to yours. I am abt to be in the thick of Indiana summer humidity. I typically just let my hair air dry and wash every other day bc it bothers me after that. Lol! Thanks for your help!
@CurlyChelle547
@CurlyChelle547 2 жыл бұрын
It was the Curlsmith Bond Curl Rehab Salve, the first product listed in the description box. The purpose of protein is to add strength and structure to the hair. Which in turn helps hair retain moisture and to help the hair to form and retain its curl. Using too much protein can have the opposite effect and cause dry, brittle hair. So the trick is to learn how much your hair needs to be healthy and retain moisture without overdoing it. Hope this answers your question. When I used to live in a more humid climate, I washed my hair every day because I just couldn’t stand it. I definitely do NOT miss humidity! Give me my parched Colorado climate any day! lol. Thank you for watching!

I'm curious to see your results! I've used that white bottle gel & it made my hair fall flat and didn't hold up in FL humidity AT ALL. My hair has been very finicky so far this summer (summer temps in FL, even if it's not officially summer), & IDK what's even going on with it. For me that gel had basically no hold, not even through day one. I've been using it on my son's hair to keep his multiple cowlicks under control. (Poor kid gets all my rejected gels lol) I recently got the black bottle of leave in/detangler but haven't tried it yet. All of their products are lacking protein which may be why the gel didn't work for me
@CurlyChelle547
@CurlyChelle547 3 жыл бұрын
Oh no. Sorry it didn’t work for you. Yeah, there’s barely any protein in any of them. Or none at all. That’s funny your son gets your rejects, I’m not above doing that too. I’m accumulating so many products for the channel that just yesterday I gave a bunch to my son’s friend, who has just started wearing her natural curls. Gave a coaching session too. And tonight my daughter’s friend is getting some stuff too along with a coaching session. I’d much rather pass it on than throw it out!

@@CurlyChelle547 they're lucky to get a training session! My son is 4 so he doesn't really care which gel lol, but I have him where he likes his hair to look nice. One bottle will last him a year!

@@VengefulAngeI hopefully they think so! That’s awesome that your son is interested in his hair looking nice at age 4. My sons are 18 and 21. Neither uses gel. One has long, silky smooth, fine, frizz free straight hair (that really doesn’t need any product) and the other likes his super short so he can pretend it doesn’t exist. Lol.

Do you think the Gimme It All Conditioner would be too heavy with the On Repeat Gentle Oi Shampoo? Also, if you could only pick one brand of shampoo and conditioner to take with you on a trip, would you choose the Ouidad or the Twist?
@CurlyChelle547
@CurlyChelle547 3 жыл бұрын
That would depend on your hair. If you have really fine, very easily weighed down hair, it might be. The gentle oil shampoo is very hydrating but isn’t too heavy for most people. I haven’t tried the Gimme it all conditioner so I can’t say exactly what that one is like other than IF it’s similar in hydration and weight to the shampoo (which I don’t know for sure) then it’s pretty much middle of the road and won’t be too heavy to combine them for most people. Fine, extremely easily weighed down hair may want to stick to the Essential moisture products or use these the others with caution. And for your second question, it’s actually pretty difficult to say which one I’d pick for a trip. As for your second question, it would probably be the original Ouidad. Specifically, the Vital Curl Shampoo and the Curl Quencher Conditioner. It’s been my favorite combination for a long time. It gives me a good balance of protein and moisture and I know I can rely on it because of my experience with it. That doesn’t mean I don’t think the Twist products aren’t good. They’re excellent products. But if I’m far from home and without my entire stash, I want the reliability of my go to combination. Thank you for watching!

How are these products with PH?
@CurlyChelle547
@CurlyChelle547 2 жыл бұрын
I don’t know their exact ph but judging by the feel of my hair I’d say the shampoo is probably right around the 4.5 to 5 range because it doesn’t raise the cuticle. The conditioner is slightly more acidic than that because it smooths down the cuticle as it should. Same with the stylers. None of them leave a rough feel to my hair like what you get with a too high ph. Thank you for watching!
