As an Essendon supporter - no Premiership since arguably 'the best' playing group of EFC players in 2000 - 17 years is an eternity for a coach. Sheedy, Malthouse, both coaches were something special, had excellent recruiters [the loss of Noel Judkins to Collingwood was an incalculable loss] - and gave the insidious Dodoro 'another' opportunity to honeycomb himself into EFC - Hinkley to me personally is very different to Ross Lyon. One coach totally 'owns' his mistakes - the other to me just endlessly comes up with excuses. For a extremely proud club like PA - it must be super frustrating..

Petty kicked the ball out on the full in the last second of play but no free was paid, On the May incident, several players are throwing their heads into the turf to draw a free kick, over the last few weeks. Something needs to be done, reward the tackler and pay a 50 metres for faking, This is the problem with changing rules mid season, they often create new problems.

If the afl doesn't start cracking down on staging something is seriously wrong. Its been a rule for ages, the umpires are somehow incapable of calling it. There needs to be a change, the umpires are not good enough.

The umpires can only call what they see. It’s the 720 before it without a whistle that is the bigger concern.

hard to call during a game because the risk of being incorrect is too high. players should cop more fines and suspensions though

@@gregarroinalidadavich9220 except it happens multiple times a game. Oliver got a push and fell over like he got shot and got a free for it. It happens way too often, they need to fine it. If the umpire gets sucked in that's okay but the MRO needs to act on it to stamp it out

Rozee is not a midfielder. He should be played as forward. Against the elite midfielders, he's far too soft.

Been a bad week for Kane. Learned that Rozee has never been ranked in the Top 70 players, then saw the Blues (which feature a mid he doesnt rate) demolish a team, then saw his team (that his brother coaches) get walloped lol

Port along with the Giants, Dees and the Cats are in reverse, but they are lucky that there isn't much pressure on them coming from behind with the possible exception of the Hawks. A lot of clubs in contention to play finals because every week all the contenders are very beatable.

Ken Hinkley advised Cameron Mooney at half time interview 40 points down that they only have to change the simple things to get back in the game. Even Cam looked disillusioned thinking what planets this guy on?? And then Ken said he just ignores the boos. That sounds like someone in denial who's ego is so big that reality is blocked out. Like an alcoholic telling you their not an alcoholic. Does Ken H have an ego problem that has spread within the playing group.????? His interview at half time if anyone has it wins the clown award for the decade. Its hilarious if anyone has it rrecorded anywhere. Please show it cause was one of the funniest jokes iv ever heard you gotta see it to believe it

@@Comatosedpeanut You must be new to AFL. There are other teams in the that haven't seen a premiership for over 30 years. Trouble with Port supporters - is they have ultra-unrealistic expectations. Other coaches in the AFL would give their right eye to have Hinkley's track record. Time for Port supporters to grow up.

Another diabolically poor performance. Port needs to combust before any meaningful change occurs. Hopefully this type of performance and outcome is a reoccurring theme for the remainder of the season. Port making finals will count for naught as they can’t even compete with top 8 quality teams. Port needs to go to the draft and they also need to delist or trade a handful of players that simply aren’t up to AFL standard. Their coach cannot elevate them above mediocrity. Hopefully the supporter base stops attending home games and doesn’t renew their memberships until meaningful changes occur.

If as a club you don’t try to get the best coaches and write them off without even asking the question then you are doing damage to your club. @@agmor1 I think if most or even all the teams were in Ports position last year after they were sitting second with so many wins in a row would have resigned Ken also. It’s always easy to look back and say I told you so, Port rolled the dice and it hasn’t paid off. Other teams supporters can laugh all they want but many have performed worse than Port during Ken’s time and the Port supporters that are bitching now need to remember that before Ken came along Port were almost kicked out of the comp and had tarps over seats, Ken started a winning culture and got supporters back to the games.

They don’t have the Dunkley/Hayden Young/George Hewitt type - well actually they do, Willem Drew but his game has gone right off, plus Ollie Wines is just a shadow of his Brownlow year. Add to that Rozee/Horne-Francis haven’t been super consistent this year, so effectively they are playing each week with just 2 gun midfielders, which isn’t enough against good sides.

@@wayneperry7413 Marshal having a poor season yes, he will certainly be on the chopping block this week. That is not the main problem in my opinion. Any defence with BTZ, Rat and Allir as their main defenders will struggle week to week.

Hard aggressive tackling is gradually being officiated out of the game. Even 5 years ago that Dangerfield tackle would have been considered a perfect tackle, now it’s a suspension. As a kid that’s exactly how we were taught to tackle. Don’t know what they teach them now. We are going towards a version of touch football. There will always be tackling but a very “ soft” version. Don’t know what the old timers think of it all? Mathews said that speckies using your knee as you go up will be outlawed next year. Not much left except running, dodging and kicking goals.

I think Ken lost the job after showdown and was going to be let go at the end of the season, after the Carlton loss I couldn’t see him lasting the year and I feel the players and Ken himself knew that hence why we have seen the poor effort over the last two games. It looks like Ken is cooked and the players are going through the motions knowing Ken is going to be replaced. If these guys do love Ken then they need to show it on the field and leave nothing in the tank at the end of the game but they aren’t and they have cost him his job.

When are the players and support staff going to put their hand up and take some ownership? Those who booed should dry themselves off after their swim, turn up to training, and say 'Ken, until you or the club decide your coaching tenure is done & dusted, we have your back and support you'.
