I'm glad that there is SOME good news coming out of Ethiopia! And this garbage to energy endeavor, while seeming mundane to some, IS very good news! It is also something that ALL Ethiopians, regardless of ethnic group, indeed, ALL Africans, can get behind, because African cites, like urban areas the world over, are drowning in their own waste.

Great Job Reppie in helping to eliminate our carbon footprint as well as our past! I feel that every large city in every state/province/country needs a waste to energy power plant. Landfills should be a thing of the past while at the same time eliminating methane [greenhouse gases], cutting down on distances/fuel to haul waste while also recovering recyleables and producing steam that generates heat and electricity to power homes and businesses on what would otherwise have been buried for long periods of time polluting ground and taking up valuable lands. If every large city everywhere had one of these waste could be hauled from surrounding cities hundred of miles away by rail/truck/ship/boat, and old landfills could be excavated eliminating their greenhouse gases, pollutants, and those lands could be freed up for development or just to return them to their natural state, eliminating eyesores. These facilities could be built right next to existing landfills to recover their waste and then the ash could be reburied in the lined excavated landfills or used to be mixed in with asphalt for repairing every nations highways/roadways which are in desperate needs of repairs. They could also be built with a recycling plant side by side to 1st hand recover recycleables. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle then Recover this should be our worlds future! Hopefully you can get rid of that nearby landfill cleaning up that land for good and eliminating the pollution from it.

It's not a solution to the waste problem, would be much better to do it right the first time and build a recycling factory, and only burn the residual waste, like in Europe.

Why don't you talk about the situation that will affect your investment very adversely ?

This is good for Africa as we have problem managing our waste but i don'[t think its going to be sustainable as it creates lots of carbon dioxide in the air which again is not good for the environment. I think solar is the best way to go and it is the future.
