The sports exhibit at the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture shows the rich culture of black athletes and how their excellence helped advance the nation. James Brown shows us the role of sports in the march toward a more equal society.

PEOPLE ALWAYS LIKE TO SAY BLACKS DOMINATE IN SPORTS BUT WHAT THEY DON'T MENTION IS THAT THOSE SPORTS ARE ,MOSTLY PLAYED BY CHILDREN. WHITE PEOPLE DOMINATE IN A GROWN MANS SPORT LIKE ROCK CLIMBING ,MOUNTAIN CLIMBING BIG WAVE SURFING, SKYING , SKYDIVING, LONG DISTANCE ENDURANCE SWIMMING ,AND MANY MORE

Are you sure about that? Think again, if you tried to run a marathon you most likely wouldn't finish it. Plus I doubt you're good at soccer, rethink what your saying. You're not the best, you're not the dominate species. We're all equal and good at separate things.

Jerimiah Johnson he’s not because not many black people get into swimming. Our best athletes go to track basketball football. Imagine Allen Iverson Russel Westbrook Deion Sanders etc carving up a soccer field with their speed agility that a white man or any other race can only dream of. We would own that too.

Winston Rhock yeah, us blacks have the athleticism but most of us play the sports that make more money like football and basketball, I even play basketball. But like you said imagine having Allen Iverson playing soccer, speeding by everyone. Imagine have Odell Beckham Jr. at goalie, fast good hands. No one would score

Baller 4Life I think those are 2 totally different skill sets and he might struggle with that sport. Their just so different and body mechanics play a big part too. Blacks bodies are built for things like running and endurance

James William and? It’s about skill, if he can make it to the nfl cuz of his work ethic if he liked soccer as a kid he would have made it to the pros in soccer

Baller 4Life there you go that is correct. If he started a kid there’s a possibility he could be great at it. But he can’t just switch and off the bat be professional at another sport. Also blacks bodies aren’t optimal for soccer. Long arms and legs are better for things like basketball and football
