n what’s crazy is that both characters are self aware, they state multiple times that they should leave each other, they’re done, they need help, but they always come back to each other. that can also fuck with impressionable heads, bc it sends the message that you can fix people and that “true love” perseveres. true love should be easy. like tessa said herself, she doesn’t want to survive the relationship, she wants to live. you shouldn’t have to fight so hard for someone. if you love someone, you recognize what’s good for them and you leave if necessary. if you love someone, you show it through honesty and communication. none of which happens in these movies. i watch them for comedic purposes, but there may be younger ppl who are actually trying to make sense of these movies and use them as the blueprints for their relationships.

As much as it’s a fictional story, same as fifty shades. I am so tired of the same trope. “Damaged guy, had a traumatic childhood yada yada, meets a girl who thinks she’s sooo lame and lowkey hates herself/has low self esteem (because of course she does) and she’s sooo quirky because she likes books tehe ohh so edgy. Did I mention she’s a virgin? Because of course she is. And she’s a prude and is all about romance and is waiting for “the one” handsome prince guy to sweep her off her feet because thats all she’s read in every novel so that’s what she wants. She’s got a best friend whos a guy who’s actually really nice and treats her well and is actually everything she actually wants deep down but she’s friendzoned him and refuses to budge on that. She meets the “cool guy hurrr durrrrr” and instantly falls head over heels OR they think they’re being smart by having the guy be an asshole and she hates him but secretly she’s into it and they have stupid banter and he’s horrible to her but then she catches him one time in a vulnerable moment and she’s like “omg he’s so nice and nOt LiKE tHe oThEr gUyS iM iN lOvE wiTh HiM I CaNT KeEp DeNyiNg My FeELinGs”. And usually the relationship is just a total trashpile but she clings onto it and to the guy so desperately even though there’s a million other options. But she alwayssss does the whole “im ugly, im a loser, im not good enough, no-one would like me” bullshit. Like ugh IM OVER IT. Is it so hard to write a female character who isn’t a no-self esteem, depresso, “quirky”, girl who loves books and acts like she’s an outsider and that no-one could possibly relate. It’s boring! It’s overdone! I know im getting mad about fictional characters but im sick of seeing/hearing/reading the same shit! Just give us something different. Women aren’t all the same, women aren’t just one dimensional weak beings. And also, (im quite heated about this tbh) WOMEN ARE NOT PUT ON EARTH TO FIX MEN. Ugh! And men don’t always have to be a walking red flag! Men can be nice, kind, gentle, decent human beings. And most women who aren’t psychotic do actually want that. I’m sick of the “nice guys finish last” NO THEY DONT. But hollywood, loves to portray that. Men deserve better male characters in stories, than the ridiculous garbage that hollywood produces. Also don’t get me started on the whole he wrote a book about their relationship thing. Agree with everything you said on that. It’s creepy and weird. I hate the push and pull of this series, the will they wont they. The ending cliffhanger was the worst. I actually want another movie, a super short one. Purely for this; I want Tessa to FINALLY grow a backbone, stop the abuse cycle, really move on, realise her worth, grow up. Find a decent guy who isn’t a walking red flag and settle down with him instead. And the end is Hardin having a sook because he lost someone who cared about him and realising he is a trash person who never deserved her. And just finally leaves her in peace. And idk I don’t care what happens to him, k!ll him off or something.

How does someone "accidentally" write a book? Hardin is just an insult to actual writers.

I don't know if it's just me, but I don't think Edward was a bad as this guy. Finally something that is not a better love story than twilight. At least Bella gets to be an immortal vampire. What does this girl get?

I also said it before and I'll say it again: I saw Hardin's actor in other roles (not counting Harry Potter) and he's actually decent in those but they were never huge projects or leading roles. That changed until he was cast for some movie about WWII, but that was cancelled during the production for unknown reasons. My pet theory is that he signed up for Hardin because he knew this movie would be a breakthrough, even if it was a good role or not, but once he realized how terrible this movie would be and that unlike every actor who ditches after 1 movie, he was stuck in this role because he's the lead, he gave up and is winging it this entire franchise. Kind of like RPatz and the Twilight movies. I'd bet money on Hardin's actor saying in a couple of years after the franchise finished how much he hated filming these movies like the aforementioned actor has done.

@@ablacklatina I saw him in Private Peaceful, a British war drama about WWI where he played the younger version of the main character's big brother during their childhood scenes. None of them were as jarring as him acting in these movies.
