Great playing! Another debt of gratitude that Clapton owed to JJ Cale for this song of course. ...but JJ wouldn't of had it any other way :)

Every note flawless, so smooth and fast. Great performance on the intro solo!

Oooh good one Mike! Love the original solo too. I totally agree on the point about learning solo. You need to learn great solos to really get the vocabulary, you can always go off and improvise on your own. I think the whole process enhances the music appreciation side of guitar playing. I played a lot of air guitar listening to records as a youngster before I ever owned a guitar at around age 16. During my air guitar years I always thought, " Wouldn't it be so cool and powerful to be able physically play what I'm make pretending?" I always try to keep that perspective as I've gone on my own quest. To be able to interpret what I hear when listening to the greats. When it comes to learning solos and songs, every door opened opens more doors. When I discovered your channel I thought, " What a goldmine!" Your my Clapton guy ( especially). Always stoked to see videos posts. Your a good man and great player. Your fan from across the pond. ☝️❤️

That is great stuff! Also surprised how great Steve Winwood guitar playing is at Crossroads

Hi Mike, could you make a video playing Have You Ever Loved a Woman from Derek and the Dominos' studio album? at least the intro or the solo. I would appreciate 🙏🙏

Great stuff. Clapton is better but Stevie's Blues is pretty good for a British teenager!

Good stuff man! I had a guitar question for you, I know that you are a man who plays strats and LPs. I am primarily an LP player, and in particular I like the 50s fatter necks on LPs. I had an american "roadhouse" strat from the 90s that I sold years ago and I thought the neck was too thin. As a guyy who prefer the LP 50s type necks, which strat neck would most likely feel more at home? V shape, U shape....and the like? Thanks!

I did a warmoth Strat guitar build ten years ago & got a 59 round back neck on it.. it’s still one of my fave guitars to play .. great chunky neck

@@mikebrookfield thanks! I guess that’s a cool thing about strats, you can always change the necks! I really want a Olympic white Hendrix looking strat with a fat neck and a humbucker in the bridge!

Alwaze great playing but maybe you should have your Strat's finish repaired... (?)

Mike doesn't monetize his videos so he cant afford a nice, shiny new one, He has to play that old worn out one 😜

Adds to the character of the guitar, you earn those marks from playing hours and hours on it
