Just saw it. BRILLIANT! One of the best films I've ever seen, as good as the original with Mads Mikkelson, which I also loved. It's the same story, but with a female protagonist (Williams). This movie is so touching. I hope it gets an Oscar nomination, at least. Williams, Julianne Moore and Billy Crudup - everyone - gave a sterling performance. I could watch it again, just like the original. Wow. Didn't think they could bring it, but they did.

do yourselves a favour and watch the ORIGINAL 2006 film, staring Mads Mikkelsen.

This a remake of a Best Foreign Language Movie Nominee that was directed by Susanne Bier and stars Mads Mikkelsen. I really love the original. I've read that this remake give justice to the original.

Wait, this is based on the Danish movie of the same name, starring Mads Mikkelsen. But Mikkelsen's character is played by Williams. Which sort of changes the twist, as you will know if you saw the movie.
