The outside B roll footage of your land or surrounding land is beautiful. I understand everyone has their own view of what's beautiful or not but for me nothing beats open meadows or snow covered woods. Please keep adding these type of clips to your video, brings a calming aspect to it. Thank you.

thanks for putting me onto Eastern Plains - i downloaded "i go blind" and "going under". while i don't mill wood, i do cut a lot of downed trees for firewood - i love your vids. it's nice to see someone getting use out of the wood many ignore!
@mixstamike
@mixstamike 3 жыл бұрын
@@beavis4play I fully agree with this because so many companies will cut down trees when there are alot of perfectly downed tree's they could be using. Like the ones that are rotted and worthless I completely understand because over time it becomes fertilizer and helps feed other plants and animals. But it's so sad to see how many tree's are cut down in the world each year which has a big impact on its environment and even us in general considering we need trees to breath lol. But the sad part is the animals loosing their homes foreal. But that's why I like watching Out of the Woods because he cares about the environment and does stuff alot of other companies just ignore like you pointed out. Good comment and awareness to an issue our government needs to address and fix foreal. So thank you for that.

You need to do a video where the board goes from being cut, to dried, to being made into a piece of furniture. I know that the drying process takes awhile but I think a lot of people need to see how a tree can become something that you can treasure for centuries.

Thanks for all your videos, I love watching them to see what you have uncovered! I used to be a furniture maker in the UK for many years and I never ceased to be surprised at the beauty nature provided us and was waiting to be uncovered inside of trees. I used a lot of US red and white oak in my furniture but, it was mainly plain sawn. Occasionally I would find quarter sawn boards with the medullary ray exposed and would keep those boards one side for a special piece of furniture where the beauty could be shown at it’s best. Watching your videos makes me a little nostalgic for those days. Keep them coming sir!

Good evening Nathan, Since I've been watching your channel for over one year, you have improved tremendously as a sawyer. You were very good when I first started watching, but you are so much better today. You were able to spot the absoluebest use of this log, even the juvenile wood look good after you cut the boards. When I had my millwork business, this was a hardwood lumber wholesaler were I could go and get quality lumber like you are producing. I always enjoyed going through their warehouse. That is one of the many things I miss from that business. However, the LORD has given me so many other pleasures. May the LORD bless you, your wife and Bruno this Christmas.

It's definitely true that everybody's different when it comes to the type of wood they like. Some people like the look of clear pine as opposed to knotty pine. Some people like like nice straight grain such as this oak which is nice and stable and you don't really have a lot to worry about in the drying process. Personally I like the grain to be all over the place. It just gives whatever the piece being made from it more character.

That log looked like nothing, its incredible how it was salvaged into such amazing looking lengths of timber.

I enjoyed how you turned the saw into an artistic and creative tool. I agree with another commentator... it would be great to see how some of these boards are used.

Another amazing video and example of what happens when a person doesn’t see just an old log laying in the woods but take the time to see the beauty inside. There will be some wonderful things built with that red oak.

When you have finished a fresh cut and are showing us the grain, why don't you drip some water onto the plank to show us how it might look lacquered - to make the grain pop!...or doesn't that work?
