I think both brands of dolls are great :-) The AG dolls are probably better quality, but much more expensive. The OG dolls are a lot cheaper, but I think both brands are great.

Well at least OG is good at diversity, they are pretty well made and detailed especially for their price❤️

A very important difference to add is that OG dolls have no heel in the back of their foot, unlike AG dolls, which have a little indentation in the back for the foot's heel. This is very important when trying on OG doll shoes on AG dolls. Some, like the roller skates, are almost impossible to fit on the AG dolls, so be aware!

Just fixed my our generation doll and if you want the hair to clean up really Nicely and just to de-Frizz all you need to do is to buy Johnson and Johnson no more tangles detangling spray and brush it out and it works really well

Too be honest. I prefer OG. Though AG is the preferred branded by most. I prefer OG because of their taller figure and rooted hair. (I prefer taller figures because i am quite tall in real life. I'm 5'7)

I collect both doll lines. Personal experience, OG has gotten a lot better in recent years and the accessories are incredible for the price. As an adult collector that loves variety, the OG displays well enough. I do think AG has better play value potentially because of greater articulation, but OG is good enough for many. I enjoy them both.

The thing is our generation dolls are a lot cheaper and are still amazing I. Have one myself and they are amazing but the problem with ag dolls are so expensive so overall our generation are better if you just want a doll to play with of practice hair.

You CAN actually rewig an OG doll. You just have to shave or cut their hair into stubs then you put the glue on the stubs and there you go! I don't really care about the eyes

I love Our Generation Dolls because they are also available in Germany. And it's the same with Journey Girls. But I would be proud if I could buy an American Girl so easy like Americans and Canadians which isn't the case yet.

In my experience, both dolls have almost equal pros and cons. My problem with ag dolls is because they are strung, the limbs get loose easily and the eyes seem cheap and lightweight and sometimes don't close properly. Also, the hair is usually thinner and less silky than og dolls. The cons with og is as you said less articulation at least in the basic dolls, but I like that it keeps the limbs tight. Personally I prefer OG dolls because they are prettier imo, and are fantastic quality for being so affordable. They also have more accessories.

I prefer American Girl Dolls. If you think they're over-priced, you really get what you pay for. American Girl Dolls are made of vinyl, not plastic. Their hair isn't rooted, they're very tightly glued on wigs. Just overall, they're very high quality. A lot of people complain that American Girl Dolls tend to get an unusual skin color over time, and their hair gets frizzy, that means you're not taking care of the doll correctly. Well, a lot of people say it's a toy, so you really shouldn't need to really take care of it in a properly manner, but American Girl Dolls are meant for more serious collectors and older kids. You need to be responsible to have one, because there's a lot of things you shouldn't do with your doll. Like, the reason their skin gets a weird color, is because the more you play with it over time, your natural human "oils" get onto the doll and that happens. The way you're suppose to take care of that is by using Mr. Clean magic erasers. For their frizzy hair, you need a wig wired brush. The reason why is because if you use a normal hair brush, it's more likely of pulling out the hair and if you use a brush that's yours, the oil from your hair will get onto the doll and cause frizz. Another reason for frizz is that whenever you brush the doll's hair, you're suppose to use a water sprayer or like container. You should also brush from the bottom to the top so that you can avoid pulling hair. So, here's my list. 1. American Girl Dolls have a much larger variety of dolls. Our Generation does have a wide variety, but not compared to American Girl. They have many different types, BeForever dolls, Truly Me, Create your own, and even 6 inch mini dolls. They have other choices like, Bitty Baby and Wellie Wishers, but those aren't really the real American Girl Dolls. They're something else, anyways..with American Girl, you can have all these things for your doll such as, braces, no hair, freckles, skin tones, face molds, wheel chairs, asthma kits, diabetes kits, and more. With Our Generation, they have things like different skin tones and hair. I think some molds are different, but American Girl has a lot of different molds like the classic mold and the Josefina mold. There's more, though. There's many different hair lengths too. (From shortest to longest) Like, pixie cuts, short hair to the doll's shoulder's, medium length, above the waist, and long, with is I think near the bottom and a bit longer than the waist. There's wavy hair, curly hair, straight, textured. There's just a lot of options. 2. American Girl Doll's hair is amazing. With American Girl Dolls, if you have a doll with wavy hair, you can just spray a little bit of water, brush a bit so it's not tangled, and then just slowly twirl bits of hair around your fingers and it'll curl very nicely. I just find that very nice, since with a lot of dolls, it's so hard to curl the hair. 3. Quality. Yes, I do agree American Girl Dolls are expensive, but you get what you pay for. If you order a doll online and it comes weird and you don't like it, you can send it back and they'll give you another doll. They always want to get what you want. Their clothes is made of real clothes material. If you see a straw hat, you bet it's made of straw. If you see lace details, it'll be lace details. You see jeans? I'll be jeans. The quality and detail is unbelievable. Way better than Our Generation. A lot of their stuff is just made of plastic. (Not to offend, I said a lot of their items are, not all of it, but their quality still isn't that great.) 4. Doll Hospital & Salons. At the American Girl place, there's doll hospital, hair salons, and nail shops. You can get your doll's hair done and styled and even their nails painted. You can even get their ears pierced! It's just amazing. The earrings are made of real metal and very high quality. You can give your doll hair extensions as well. If your doll's limbs came off, or anything bad, send it to the doll hospital! They'll fix it! If you want a bald doll, you can send it there, and they'll take the wig off for free! 5. Huge community. American Girl lovers have their very own community. Agtube, stop motions, photography, it's just amazing. 6. Flexibility. American Girl Dolls's limbs can move side to side and have a large range of motion. With Our Generation, their dolls's limbs are a little squishy, that's just bad quality. Sure, it's more flexible that way, but then, it's not very sturdy and nice. Thanks so much for reading, if you prefer Our Generation, I do respect that, I just wanted to make this comment because I saw a lot of people with all their facts wrong. Saying stuff like Our Generation dolls are more realistic. I think their dolls's heads are too thing and their bodied are way too skinny. The arms are curved unrealistically and the heads just look so..doll-like. With American Girl Dolls, I don't know how, but it just doesn't really seem so dead looking. I feel like Our Generation dolls's eyes are to oval-like and thin. Their faces just look like they don't know what they're doing and that they're dolls. American Girl Dolls actually look like they have feelings and they're alive..if you get what I'm saying. Our Generation dolls just look..lifeless. I don't know how, but they do. I find American Girl Dolls actually looking like they have a personality..?

Personally I only use OG dolls and they are extremely flexible..all of my dolls can move their lives 360* and stand fine. Their hair stays in great quality if you look after it! They're my all time favourites even as AG dolls have lots of accessories and are really pretty I Stan team OG for life!
