Ah yes, the under appreciated work of Grand Master Cuisinart. "Blend your opponent as if he were a delicious batch of mixed fruits and nuts."

You might notice a pattern alongside the first video with this whole stepping off-line thing.

Usually I get hit for being out of line, now you're saying I can get act up AND get away with it? Sweet! :P

depends if you get hit i guess

Yeah, it is clear that if someone wants to hit you, they'll probably succeed unless you use their aggression to your advantage. Chiefly, stepping out of the way of a reckless, self-sacrificing flurry of kitchen utensils is more logical than standing there in fool's guard.

So how often will you kick a blade away, then punch them?

Thanks for the tips, I feel like you could replace "Aggressive Opponents" with "Overly Aggressive Opponents" though.

Nah, aggressive is effective characterization. Opponent already implies aggression, stating that they're aggressive on top quite clearly conveys unusual vigor in that regard. Overlaying "overly" unto "aggressive opponents" doesn't really add anything that isn't established already, unless the context implied *passive* opposition, which isn't really opposition at all.

Attacking them first before they even begin or draw them out with their attacks. It helps to put the blade in the face, it slows them down.

I know this may be not really historically documented but... Do you have anytip about managing an opponent sword+shield with a longsword ? Btw, I love your vids ;)
@BeamMonsterZeus

Try to get their sword either bound or behind your opponent, and at that moment, kick their shield. Not sure if that's safe in practice, but god dammit it works.

It would be better if you did the overall presentation of the technique on normal speed or both: slower and normal. That's at least my opinion. Great video as always,tho!

Jason stopped chasing children temporarily to learn some HEMA basics. Apparently he's moonlighting as a Luchador these days.
