Very nice job Tom, the blackwash panel lines really bring out the paint job. Looking really good. 👍👍👍😎😎😎 Cary

Hi Cary :) Thanks as always, my friend. For the original small test piece I did a grey primer with a light coat of silver. There are quite a lot of black details and I also wanted to seal around the window mask with black so I decided to cover the whole unit. This meant that I had to give it more coats of silver to cover the black...it looked terrible...LOL. The black wash in the panel lines did a great job to break up the silver blob that I had...With the layers of matt lacquer and dullcote I'm very pleased with the finish. So now I need to do the other 11 units :)) All the best.

I Tom You make it look easy and I know it isn't. The finished job looks great, I'd be very happy if I'd produced that. I've got myself an old loco now to have a go at spraying when I get time, after scenery on my layout gets done though lol... Cheers Paul

Hi Paul, thanks very much mate. Thankfully, I had the spare end unit to test things on. It's a tricky one, especially around the carriage windows (which are decals). I'd like to have cut out and glazed them but it's an 11 car set with 132 windows....LOL. I've started work on the main set now but I still have lots more to do after the paintwork including the clear cast windscreens, scratchbuilt cab interiors with lights and the nose cone connections. It's funny you say about scenery because, as I'm doing these trains I've realised I need to re-lay my track...LOL Yep, there's always something else to do :)) Good luck with your scenery. All the best mate.

Hi Tom You do seem to give yourself some tricky jobs, those windows would have been a nightmare lol It really has turned out well. I had decided to do nothing but scenery until I'm finished with the basics but already I've deviated and been weathering a few locos lol, really must get on with the green stuff though. All the best Paul
