This update has been heavily edited to keep the video no longer than 10 mins. For that reason I've focused on the AGV 575. I'll use the rest of the footage for Update 3 which will follow soon. All the best...Tom

Hi George, thanks very much :) I'm doing the pantograph work at the moment, then I'm going to work out how I'll tackle the windscreen. All the best to you and your family.

Hi Fred, thanks very much mate :) I'm having a great time with this project. I'm taking it slow as I have to learn new skills and techniques as I go along. It's handy to have some test pieces to try things out on. Yes, my little helper...although, to her, everything looks nice and chewy...lol All the best mate :)

Coming on well Tom. The silver finish is great. Interesting about the pantographs. Laurie.

Cheers Laurie..Yeah, the silver is really nice...looking forward to getting it all sprayed. I've just done one of the pantographs and it came out well. I'll do a test spray on the scrap dummy unit to make sure I get the masking right before I commit to the main train. All the best mate....Tom

Hi Tom Interesting you got good results with the paint, I always thought you couldn't use cellulose with acrylic at all. You learn something new everyday. I can see you'll be having more fun switching the pantographs too. Cheers Paul

Hi Paul, cheers mate. Yes, it came out with no probs at all. According to other comments here, it's fine to use cellulose as the primer but not the other way around. I'm going to do the first pantograph transplant today....really looking forward to see how it turns out. All the best :)

Lol was that a squirrel at the end........If you spray acrilic on top of cellulose thats fine but the other way around and you may have a turning over or crazed effect . Nice work....Jim

Hi Jim...Yes, my baby (that's why I'm covered in scratches and have almost no fingernails left..I get manicures..lol). Thanks for the tip, I knew there was an issue with the paints but this will help me out a lot as I have a mix of acrylic and cellulose blacks. Thanks for watching...All the best :)

I seem to remember from days gone by, acrylic over cellulose is ok but not the other way round. So a cellulose primer shouldn't cause any troubles. But I'm getting old so my memory is not to be relied on :)

Hi Gerry, thanks for the tip. I have a few cans of cellulose spray that I use for my G scale trains so it's good to know that I can use them this way around. All the best :)
