Ahmaud Arbery death trial | Lawyer objects to Al Sharpton being at court

2 жыл бұрынWilliam "Roddie" Bryan's lawyer said Al Sharpton's presence could amount to "intimidation" in the trial of the killing of Ahmaud Arbery.
Arbery was shot and killed on Feb. 23, 2020. Cellphone video leaked to the public shows two armed white men in a truck approaching the 25-year-old Black man as he runs down the road. One of the men, later identified as Travis McMichael, and Arbery struggle over McMichael's shotgun before Arbery is shot and collapses.
Travis McMichael, his father Gregory McMichael and William "Roddy" Bryan, who recorded the video, are all charged with murder in Arbery's death.

Watch his assistant from 3:00 - 3:05. She literally does a face palm as soon as he mentions the "Colonel Sanders" bit. There were several other times where she put her hand to her face in complete disbelief to what he was saying or to cover up her laughter to whatever he was saying. I'm glad we can sit back now and laugh at this guy. He was like a trollin lawyer throughout this trial. Someone who has the technical know how should make a compilation of this lawyers most rediculous statements but instead of being outraged, we should watch & listen to such a compilation as if it were a stand up comedy routine.

The jury is supposed to be a jury of one’s peers just like how the OJ Simpson jury was. Better to let 10 guilty men go free than send one innocent person to prison. Most people on the right just care about a trial being fair no matter what races are involved. @@Cre80s Naa I don't think this comment section really understands the exact words the lawyer was saying. We can all agree those dudes were guilty as fuck. In this very moment though the defense lawyer had a very good point. The family bringing in high profile political figures into the court room is an intimidation type tactic and it shouldn't be allowed in a fair court room. Race isn't the topic I am raising here in supporting his objection, political pressure on its own is the topic. Courts try to cleanse the jury of outside influence and bringing in high profile political figures kinda shits all over that process.

I was a child of the sixties, in a military family that moved every 3 years, throughout the US and overseas. I was baptized at the Second Baptist Church in Warner Robins, Georgia. I am happy to say race was not a topic in our family.....white, brown, black, or red, purple, green....we were raised to respect everyone as we ALL breathe the same, and bleed the same color. I was sickened by this attorney's comment about "Black pastors" being in an open to the public courtroom, AND THEN in his next breath, complaining that there aren't enough "Bubbas", (white males over 40, with beer bellies and only a high school education) on the JURY! While in a town with 55% Black population, only ONE Black juror is seated for this trial! He should be disbarred. It makes me both sad and angry at what the US is rapidly, and RABIDLY, turning into. The days of "Yes sir", "Yes ma'am" are over, replaced by a "me, me, me" mentality.
