Comes with someone else’s cat. I’m already sold! I’m allergic to cats and dogs, so I can’t keep them, but I adore them. I’m lucky to have wonderful neighbors with pets that visit with me outdoors often! So a built in neighbor cat works for me! 😂

How crazy to think that a large "village" in rural Italy has fiber optic internet access but my home in suburban Texas, just north of Austin, has nothing better than 12Mb/s ADSL, and likely never will. Impressive.

Dave. All I have to say is if this property was available when I was looking. It would have been a serious contender. I love the outdoor space. Bedrooms would stay where they are, There would be so many uses for the storage areas and that cellar would be a fantastic wine room. Polish it up, hang some wonderful art and some good lighting. Fantastic.

It's absolutely charming, I love it! I like the idea of making the first floor the lounge, I'd remove the half wall by the stairs and put in a nice railing to give a more spacious feel and better air circulation. I'd look into restoring the winemaking equipment and make the cantinas functional again (I could be the "little old winemaker"☺️), and have the traditional winetasting/feasting gatherings of friends - with an added summer kitchen as Dave suggested. I'm a gardener, so would toy with the idea of making a roof terrace over the laundry room to add even more space for container gardening, this would also fix any small leaks that roof might have (and the view from there would be stunning!)

Now that I understand what "bars" are like in Italy, (the heart of the town where you catch up on all the goings-on and gossip) I enjoy hearing about them - but it would be nice if you could also let us know how far the grocers and bakeries are, I dream of a charming home in a charming, friendly town where I could walk to market for daily shopping. When I first started following your channel it was easy to imagine that while you sounded like a "drinker" talking about all the bars - you apparently don't do the food shopping in your private life!

I went and checked out the area on Google earth and wow pretty amazing, if we were there today we would be seriously looking at this property.

A cure for the overlooking windows would be to buy both properties! (as long as I'm spending imaginary lottery winnings, why not?😄) Off now to hunt down the video of that other house...

I love this. I agree that the lounge should be above (with a Murphy bed where the bunks are). Room on the terrace as my artist studio. Rooms downstairs for gardening/ potting and maybe even hydroponics! The courtyard and terrace are fab.

Let’s consider that room-by-room so to speak: Food Storage Room - Food storage and music/band jams. Install vinyl plank flooring. Gated Storage Room (by Food Storage) - Storing bikes and general storage. Add a lockable door to the room. Cantina with Sink - Add a workbench and use it for storing tools and workbench tinkering. Wine Room (First Floor) - Small den for cannabis exploration. (Weed is legal for personal use in Italy, and I'm a teetotler. 😉) Wine Room (Basement) - Leave it alone. It’s a perfect conversation piece. Plus, down there, my alcoholic houseguests can pretend they are Robert Mondovi or Giuseppe Benanti doing inspections at their own winery. I won’t care. Downstairs Courtyard - Reading and chill area. Add an outdoor uncovered lift/elevator to/from the upstairs terrace for mobility as we age into oblivion. Front Door Entrance - Change front door. Remodel the pavement that runs between the front door to the terrace so that moving between the two areas is safer and easier. Upstairs Terrace - General chilling and outdoor grilling. Repair or replace floor tiles. Terrace Lounge Room - Lounge/ TV Room, mini office, and guest room with a fold-out couch. Terrace Lavatory - Move washer to inside the kitchen area. Kitchen - Put the washer in the kitchen. Inside Lavatory - Replace shower curtain with a shower door. I’m with David. I saw Hitchcock’s movie, “Psycho”. 😉 1st Floor Bedroom - Master Bedroom for my wife and me. It’s downstairs and right next to the bathroom, which needs to be closer as we age. 2nd Floor Bedroom - Bedroom with couch and second TV.

I like your talking, giving your suggestions. Other bloggers will assume, “You’ll need to renovate this kitchen,” or, “You will want to change thus and so.” I like the idea of many options given, and that’s what you do. You are standing in the particular room, so you have a feel for whether the space might be smallish as a lounge or good with a pull-down bed. I like your rambling!

It's definitely a leak in the outdoor bathroom, the corner roof tile is broken! 😬 This is easy fix with 1 tile, so if I were you, I would contact those people and advise them to solve this as quickly as possible, so it doesn't cause MORE damage, because that would be a shame for this beautiful gem! 💝👌🏼✌🏼

I do like the upper bedroom as a living-room/main lounge area with a nice sofa sleeper for overnight visitors. With some decorative non-fixed partitions you could use that back area with the red bunks as a computer desk setup. Do you know if that "ledge" just to the right of those bunks is weight bearing in any way? If it could handle some weight you could use something to cover the edge on the room side and then use it for some small, containerized storage. The possibilities boggle the mind.

This home is a very cute and kind of quirky setup, around the elevated courtyard area. It would be great for a flatting type situation.. where a few people needed their own spaces, and could meet up in the shared courtyard. 🌴

That basement would be a great mens room or cinema but I could bring myself to destroy the barrel. With such history and rustic architecture it'd be a crime.

I prefer old town areas. This is quirky as all get out but I love it. Indoor outdoor living. Very interesting. You could put a mezzanine in the upper bedroom over the stair well wind. The ceilings are so high. And yes add a bath where the bunk beds are. If you have to run pipes just raise the floor a bit. The bedroom and bathroom on the terrace could be Airbnb rental. Bottom floors have potential as well. Love the big wine barrel but it takes up usable space. Unless you turn it into a sauna. 😂 Very cool property indeed. 😊

I would make the laundry room into a proper laundry room. Remove the bidet shower sink. Install a laundry sink and cabinet for cleaning supplies. The other separate room would be the kitchen with table to eat at and dining table on terrace. In the main part of the house, take out the kitchen and make that room a lounge. All other rooms can remain what they are. Take away the cabinet at the end of the stairs. Then, decorate the entire place. ❤

And here I was thinking I really need a giant barrel in my basement. What a brake to find this one. but I really do like the house. and the price is good. So this place has three cantinas. Always a desire of mine . I need some workshop space. I love the complexity of it, for some reason. It's like it evolved over the centuries to become what it is.That little court yard and all that. I'd want to have the concrete pulled up and replaced with cobble stone of some sort. cute village views too . What's not to like.

Looking at it with a critical eye I would replace the kitchen cabinets, the metal doors and see if a window could be installed in that bathroom. Is this an expat selling to move to a more active city? For someone that does not mind a quiet area without a lot of hustle and bustle I think this is an outstanding value for the money. A lot of value for someone that also has an extra 10k or so for minor improvements but definitely very livable for someone that does not if the kitchen could be retained. 👍🏻

KZfaq keeps recommending your videos to me, and indeed I'm looking for a second home in Italy. However, nearly all properties you advertise are in Earthquake Zone 1, and that's one of many reasons why Italians no longer want them. I wish you had the decency to inform your viewers.

I love the lower floor. I’d use that bedroom as is. But I’d use a smaller table and chairs in the kitchen area and some chairs and a coffee table around the fireplace.

I suspect that David may well know the location of every bar in every small town in Italy, at least in the Abruzzo region.😉

Your enthusiasm is contagious :) My Grandfather was from Vittorito (left when he was 19, back around the 1920's), and I met/visited one of his nephews/my 2nd cousin there about 12 years ago, who still lives in the family home that my Grandfather grew up in. I'm curious now what steps and expenses are involved in owning property abroad... it's a wonderful dream I've pondered for awhile! (I'm a Canadian Citizen). I LOVE this and it's so cheap and has a million different things with it. You can have someone rent the room outside. That will give you extra income. What about air conditioning for those of us who have breathing probllems? How wide is the front door to the house cuz a big girl like me would have to make that wider. lol
