The Accuracy International AE Mk I is a Law Enforcement version of the famed Arctic Warfare with changes to the chassis, threaded barrel, and removed "winterized" features... It is, however a "dead accurate" rifle built with the ruggedness to withstand the the harshest conditions with the same action as the AW.
Perhaps it's outward appearance of the classic AI green chassis/stock that resembles the original L96A1 or the later L115A3 that really stays in your memory; or perhaps it's from playing CounterStrike 1.6 and using the AWP to 360 no-scope; or even perhaps it's because you like to smoke noobs in PUBG with the AWM.
Regardless, the AI classic precision rifles are on a class of its own with premium, barrels, a bomb proof, slick action and chassis design. If weight and money were of no concern, the AI is typically a top contender for government contracts for a good reason.

We have some viewers who seem to think that the 1,100 yard shot was a miss. It was a hit, you can see the target move. The round hit on the right side of the target, flexed and you can see the splash on the post to the right of it. If you watch our over video, the long hits are all like that. splash right, left or low with the target flex. Right side hits typically flex and splash like that.

I got a challenge for u ... :) .. this clip is from csgo (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rNeIgZqTu9WbiIE.html) which isnt a big deal cause the AWP more or less stayed the same ... and it just shows the requirements best ... it shows the Player Coldzera from Luminosity Gaming back then ... at jumping shots ^^ ... at Mirage (map) ... yes u heard right .. I want u to jump and shoot (while in air ) .. but not just in any manner ... the line of sight has to be broken at the ground lvl ... so by an about 1.5 -2m wall of boxes or sth. ... and u have to use a scope .. no iron sights or a red dot... it seems unfair to request a target range over 50m on a torso sized target ...but who knows .. just push the limits ^^... and ... if u think that cant be done ... some other hard to do inspirations from the one and only Jerry Miculek (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a8t4h9aSqNWUY4U.html ; kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pqeHZsedubPaZps.html ) ... and dont complain about costs of broken scopes or sth ... ur channel has grown big enough to fund projects like this ^^...glhf .. XD

I went back and watched it three times and it really looks to me like I can see a hit in the dirt almost exactly between the two targets. I definitely do not see any target movement. Are you sure you aren't looking at video of the shot before which was not caught on the primary camera?
@9HoleReviews
@9HoleReviews 3 жыл бұрын
@@seanbreheny9777 It's a target impact. Usually on the 1k and 1.1k gong you'll see the target splash onto the left or right legs like that (with a center left/right hit). If it were a splash on the ground it would not be along the entire leg. That's likely a center right impact, because if it were a far right impact you'll see it move a lot more. If it were a miss, the splash would be much smaller, impacts spread the splash out the entire height of the leg with a right side deflection.

Reminds me of when I used to do archery back at university: my coach (who was part of the Paralympic GB coaching team) told me that it takes 1,000 arrows to fully adjust to any change in equipment. Even if the potential performance of that equipment was better, you always get at least a little worse before you fully adjust to the change and learn how to exploit that extra potential.

The AW changed the tactics of the Taliban during the fighting in Helmand. They suddenly found them self unable to approach within 1000 meters of British sangars and OPs with out instantly taking casualties. They switched to man packing DshKs up into elevated positions in the valleys or using PKs for harrasing fire. So then the Brits brought in .338 rifles and things got really interesting.

Ah, the men in sheds stories. The same thing happened in Formula 1 when Britain began to create cars that took on Ferrari and then beat Ferrari. I don't know if you're into F1 but that actually happened and drove Enzo Ferrari mad! 😂😂

@dyingearth You are, without question, correct. Nonetheless, the beauty of those astonishing "Men In Sheds" capability to engineer brilliant technologies gives me hope for the future. The products those incredibly talented people come up with seem to revolutionize their particular fields. As an engineer, I will continue to follow their progress and remain impressed with their ability to captivate the globe with their amazing creations. Enzo's ego drove him on. Yet, he slowly came to, not only appreciate their efforts but happily utilize them on his company's Formula 1 cars. Another Enzo quote regarding the Jaguar XKE, he called it the most beautiful car he'd ever seen. He was correct too, and I know that first hand. The father of a girlfriend of mine owned one. I helped him work on that beast, often. It is the most beautiful car I've ever seen, however, I'll keep my Mercedes CL 55 AMG. It's faster than an XKE and is undoubtedly more reliable. If you know anything about Jaguar vehicles at that time, they had their electric systems designed by Lucas, well known as "The Prince of Darkness." I find that so bloody funny, except for the fact that I once owned a 1966 Triumph TR4a IRS, featuring electrics from The Prince of Darkness. In other words, Lucas had the last laugh on ME. Bloody hell! 👍👍😎

The first of these rifles came to us in the late 80's around '88 if I remember rightly. I know we'd got them in time for the first Gulf War. They were a complete game changer at the time and we were still using them in 2003 in Iraq. The Schmitt and Bender scopes were incredibly accurate too and I cannot imagine not using the two together. Usual shots were 600-800m but we made hits out to 1000m. Great video and I really enjoy seeing your long range shooting. 🇬🇧

I connected more often than not once dialed in at a 6x8” swinger at 600 yards, using a range buddy’s accuracy international 6.5CM. Journal says, “98° zero wind, air feels stagnant.” Very very high-quality rifle and perfect trigger. Now I’ll start the video to hear your impressions.

I recently was looking at a Lever Action by Henry that uses a magazine instead of a traditional tube to feed the gun, and with a 6 locking bolt I would imagine it has very similar accuracy to a bolt gun, and my first thought was to come over to y'alls channel and ask y'all to do a practical accuracy video of it. It's the Henry Long Ranger in .308 or 30-06 whichever you prefer. EDIT: It's also in 6.5 now as well so I would expect it to put out some serious competition.

Got a lot of fond memories of the original L96a1. Unfortunately, like most kit that finds its way into the hands of a British squaddie, it was the lowest priced selection at the trials to replace the L42a1 so it “won”. You should be glad that you had 10x power for the long shots too. We had to make do with a fixed 6x42 S&B.
@rickansell661

It was a bit different to 'cheapest available'. The story is quite complicated and involved people basically putting their careers on the line. You do those individuals a big disservice by repeating that tired old trope. I suggest watching this from Forgotten Weapons, which covers how the L96 was, when it appeared, revolutionary. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/m5Z5qdJ83Nypkqc.html Now, as for the scope, that I can't comment on in detail. However time has passed and what was possible scope-wise in terms of clarity and robustness in 1985 was very different to today. Currently the current standard sniper equipment, the L115A4, uses the UK's third (IIRC) iteration of a S&B 5-25×56 scope. Working inside the science and technology part of MOD since 1986 all I can say is that, whilst cost comes into it, a lot more factors than 'the cheapest' comes into things. After all 'the cheapest' would have been just to keep L42s soldiering on in various levels of decrepitude and uselessness until the current day. OTOH every pound spent on one thing means a pound less spent on another thing - frustrating but true. And no we are not perfect, not by a long shot.
