You know you can build and run your own on your own hardware, right? The open-source scene is the only reason AI got big in the first place, corporations are just piggybacking off of that to make a profit like they do with literally everything.

@@thatmspaintgirl I don't want to build software that needs to steal en mass from other people's work in order to function profitably, as opposed to most AI defenders who are, as you say, either piggybacking off of open source materials and reselling it as a subscription _or_ buying said subscriptions to farm internet points or scam dollars from the outputs because they don't actually know how to do the copy-paste programming part of the AI grift themselves. There is no reason to use AI for art other than to scam people. You will only ever get median (average) results, so it's not really all that valuable as art, either, especially since no output can legally be copyrighted and it has no "hand made" social or cultural value. It's the same as cheap, bargain bin slop you can get in bulk, hyped up and priced up by its desperate salesmen with a sign saying "NO REFUNDS" right next to them. Why would I want to join the leagues of losers like that?

They're _actually_ wrong because no AI bro actually knows how to code software, and even if they did they'd still just have a lame algorithm that can only exist by stealing art from others with actual skills, can't have its outputs copyrighted and is basically only profitable when used for scams and subscriptions (which are also scams).
