Eh, it kinda does take effort tho. To generate good art, you have to find the right generator, and then be super specific with your prompts, and even then you might not get what you want. Is that effort alone enough to call yourself an artist though? Debatable. And frankly I think the answer to that debate is not important, because we have bigger issues concerning the use of AI art.

So they look for free alternatives (not like AI is that much more free anyway but free AI art generators exist) That being said, (indeed) you're always going to get better results the more money you put into whatever you're doing.

I actually had a discussion in this comment section with someone who had the opposite opinion on AI as me, and we seemed to come to a nice understanding. It seem to more be that people who support AI are on a moral low ground from the start of a discussion, making their points difficult to read, while people who don't support AI often escalate things using as a result of the frustration in the art industry. Trolls and actual morons do not make anything better either.

@@endiecutie06 Surprisingly, AI 'somewhat' knows how to code, but if you feed it advice on how to program or even 'rizz' itself, you get stagnation in what the community surrounding it thinks is 'flashy' or 'impressive'. AI even argues that people take too much credit (Which is true, but I think they just say that to deflect progress.)

I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think that there is a "tipping point" where the "inbreeding" would continue to create more (debatably) art. Also there'd definitely be a weird point where it is garunteed fo create something new because of the monkeys and typewriters theory but once you start letting time approach infinity in math and statistics almost everything becomes technically "possible" (side tangent, just an interesting note because math)

I don't think AI will ever truly replace art as a form of expression. While AI is the future, it's still going to have inherent limitations like lacking a true mind for creativity. AI for shitposting however, that's up for debate.

I hate ai "art" as much as the next guy, I think it's stealing and just a more complicated version of tracing, but I don't think this video does a great job of criticizing ai supporters. You brought good points in the video but you kinda made the other person be an extreme characature and that just feels in bad faith. You even gave them a stereotypical annoying nerd voice and made yourself the calm rational one. Anyone who supports ai or is on the fence about it isn't going to change their mind watching this video because it will just make them feel like you're making fun of them and being condescending, making them even more against you and other artists and anti-ai people. I still agreed with your points, but I don't think anyone who doesn't already have that opinion going in will leave with it.

The point isn't to make a point though, it's to make fun of something. Like, if you hate a politician and make jokes about their bad fashion choices or the weird shit they said, their minor spelling mistakes or an old controversy. The underlying reasons don't really matter as it is a purely an in-group gesture, intended to be consumed with the implicit understanding that everybody is already on the same page. In short terms: "I have portrayed myself as the Chad and them as the soyjack"

In my opinion, people who use AI to create artwork aren't the artists. The AI they use is. It's the one that actually produces the image. The people that send the prompt are merely a form of "commissioner". Much like a commissioner, they give a subject for the artist to paint. They aren't artists to begin with.
