Great episode as always. Our village along with a few others in the region was established in the 1890s after the construction of three canals (Jhang, Gogera & Rakh) from Head Khanki. My great-grandfather Rukan Din along with his 4 brothers were incentivized to populate a barren area in Toba Tek Singh. They migrated from Jagraon in 1899.

the marvelous episode on Upper Jhelum canal was a piece of information and narration. Waiting your story about Lower Chenab canal and head Khanki. How could we preserve the rest-houses along the canals. I observe sometime the caretaker don't like to promote the tourism on these spot of history and architecture and serenity.

The Salt Hedge, you mean, sir. I hear from my friend Raheal Siddiqui that there are remnants of that hedge in Dera Ghazi Khan and perhaps also near Rahim Yar Khan.
