I bought this antenna from Amazon, had it returned the next day. The 2 meter bandwidth was so narrow that it would only be useful on a single repeater after tuning. 70cm covered the whole band within reasonable VSWR.

Thank you! Your timing is great, I just assembled one this morning only provided by HYS. I'm curious about the tuning very much. 440 resonance was acceptable but 2 meters a different story. Look forward to your next video on this antenna. 73

Hi thought l were going build a antenna from scratch, and when you said l am going to make it just using my ears picked uk silly me l did read your heading Ailunce AY-04 dual band VHF/UHF that will teach me, not to jump the jun,,,, anyway well done I built a 5 element its on my quiz page with other things l have made,,,,,,, any way all the best to you. If its vertical can you use a metal pole to mount it? Wont that effect the near field?

Is there a cheaper option if I get a cheap dual mobile antenna on a PVC pipe screwed to the side of my house shoved into coax to shove on my mobile dual band transceiver because I dont have 8 million dollars in 2024. 73 kq4hcu
