...the air bag can be soften, by placing it in warm water, that's Not Too Hot... this will make it easier to install.

Thank you. They are still working great. I top them off once a year and only ad about 5 psi to it. They stay filled up good. Thanks for watching.

It should work perfect. I towed over 2,000 lbs from Colorado to Florida and then up you South Carolina and still got 18 mpg. The only thing I would watch out for is the tongue weight. Class 1 hitches is only 200 lbs and when you see what the hitch is attached to you don’t want more. The airbags are great. I even love them for normal driving. I think I keep them at 20 psi year round. When you fill them up drive them for a few days and then plan on filling them up again as the bag expands.

Add the air lines first feed line down though the hole at bottom of spring support, then you don't have to deal with forcing them on though a tiny hole.

I would not have been able to get it through the spring. It was way too tight. I wish it was that easy.

Definitely put a 90 degree fitting on the line coming off the bag. That low hanging looped hose can catch on a million things on the road including basically any debris you drive over. Use an elbow fitting and make the hose hug the car as much as possible.

It's not as bad as it looks in the picture. It actually sticks up higher when the car is on the ground. Thats a good idea even though I haven't had any issues since the install going on almost 5 years now. Thanks for watching.

Best to attach black air line to red airbag nipple before you put it into spring. Spray a touch of oil into the black line. Use a hot Philips screwdriver tip to open up the black line, softening it. Push on the black line all the way and let it cool. bingo. Install airbag into widest part of spring, and route the black airline.

It wouldn't work for mine because I couldn't get it through the spring with it attached. I would completely agree with you for other applications. This one has good access from the bottom.

SilverBullet93GT there’s no need. Upgrade the hoses with the same kind as in my other video and you will be set. I was shocked the stock brakes are amazing. Try it first before spending all of that money. I think the hoses were like $90 for all 4.

an easier way to get the air line on the fitting, heat some water in the microwave for a couple mins and dunk the tip of the air line in the hot water for a min or so. It will then slide on fairly easy and shrink back down tight as it cools off

I wish that I would have thought about that when I did this. At the same time it was like 5 degrees outside so I would have struggled to keep it warm long enough to get into position. Still a great idea.

got the 60724 for the focus wagon and I'm test fitting into a set of old rear springs on the bench, looks like bag diameter is definitely a loose fit diameter wise and length wise it's less than half of the relaxed length of the springs, does not look right to me even i double checked the pn on the manufacturer site it says correct. thoughts? Edit: they are basically "sausage thrown down a hallway fit" :)

@@DaveMedicus they do stay tight in the diameter direction when inflated, my note was, that i don't know how much they help with towing, i tried haulinga bigger load just inside the wagon with seats down, and it still droops considerably, i think the aftermarket springs i have in the back are too weak

This must be a different for your type of vehicle. Every video i have seen shows the bag being installed with the air house connecting to the top of the bag not the bottom. Including the manufactures video. Have you had any issues since the install?
@DaveMedicus
@DaveMedicus 5 жыл бұрын
Chadi Bousleiman with this vehicle it’s impossible to install it on top. You have to use the bottom hole. The instructions that came with my kit also had the hose coming out the bottom. I have had issues with the spacers being sliced out. I haven’t replaced any spacers or airbags. They are still holding up. I did however get an extra bag from the manufacturer Incase one blew.

I don't think silicone will hold for a very long time on a vehicle. It's why there are special sealers for the RV market. It doesn't hold up to vibration.

Good info. This was the kit listed for my vehicle. After about a week the bags fit perfectly. The only issue that I have had with them is the plastic spacer under the bag has been pushed out on both springs. I have left the bag with no spacer for almost a year now and they haven't popped yet.

The hardest part of the whole install was getting the bags in the springs. It sucks. There is no easy way to put it. Its not a hard job at all. The bags will be loose in the springs when you first put them in but after a few hundred miles they will fill the springs up. I check my pressure like once a year and its almost never off. Only normal seasonal change. Good luck with your project. Let me know how it goes.

I think you simply bought the wrong size bags. I've put the 1000's on an old Cadillac and an old Oldsmobile 98 and in neither case did the bags flop around inside the coils as is shown in your video. Clearly you need bigger bags for that vehicle? Actually, they don't look like 1000's . . . I think they gave you the wrong bags.
@DaveMedicus

The bags stretched out after a few miles. If they were any bigger I don’t think that I would have been able to get them into the spring

No the bags were right. about a week after installing they expanded and filled the springs perfectly. I had one issue where the bag got a little slit in it and the company sent out a new one. I ended up not needing to install it yet. These things change the drivability of the car in an amazing way. I keep the PSI at 20 and fill it up once a year. Not issues at all. I hope that this helps.
