An Allegiant crew had to land their A320 with one of their main gear still unlocked, getting disabled on the runway with a blown tyre. The incident happened on Sunday the 19th of September. It involved Allegiant flight G4-2601, from Knoxville McGhee Tyson (KTYS), Tennessee to Boston Logan International (KBOS) in Massachusetts, USA. The aircraft had 154 passengers and 6 crew on board.
At around 10:30 am on Sunday, the Allegiant A320 was on final approach for runway 33L at Boston. The crew then advised the Tower that they would need to go around, to troubleshoot something

Yes when the fear takes over things get an order of magnitude more dangerous. The thing to remember is that the crew is trained for this, just listen to them they know what they are doing.

JV you are PERFECTLY AND EXACTLY CORRECT SIR!! Always choose the most help available!! Period. I’m taking the ILS 10 times out of 10 I don’t care if I’ve landed there everyday. Sometimes we pilots with our Alpha personalities tend to think wet need to prove something! No way!! There are BOLD pilots, and OLD pilots.. but never both. I’m doing my BEST to become an OLD pilot. The bold guys don’t last too long in our industry. Keep doing your thing JV!! Very very proud of you sir!!

In summary: -Advise ATC & Cabin -Distribute fuel for the operative side to be heavier -No Autobrake -No Antiskid -Brace order at 500ft Above Ground Level -Keep the abnormal gear side up for as long as possible during touchdown -No Reversers -All Engines OFF at touchdown -Decide whether or not to Evacuate
