Thank you very much. Currently in the tedious part of prepping and removing all the rivets on the 3 exterior panels in preparation of replacing them. I’m thinking it will be a 2 part series and the first video should be up in the next week and the second part will be right up after the first one within a week as well. Once the shell goes back on the frame; the videos should be going up at a pace of a couple per week until finished. Interior work will have a lot of videos that will go rather quickly.

Probably my favorite part so far of the entire project to this point. Then again I’ve always liked welding. I have a couple videos on my channel specifically welding cross members and outriggers that might be able to assist and help point out a few things. This trailer had 3 cross sections and 13 outriggers replaced which is why the entire shell had to come off and sub floor had several rot places but a lot in the c channel area around bathroom area in rear. Was very fortunate it didn’t expand to the main frame itself.

I did. After trimming it I went back in after and applied a new coat of epoxy to the areas no longer protected from trimming. Top and bottom and all edges of sub floor was all epoxy

The wheel wells were placed between the top portion of the C channel on the main frame, and the sub floor (sandwiched in between both). I sealed both top and bottom both interior and exterior of wheel well. The rise in floor is very minimal; maybe 1/8-1/4” inch in raised height but only by the wheel well side. The rest of the sub floor was perfectly leveled. I was not concerned about this area because I’ll have cabinets for kitchen on one side so it won’t affect the floor and on the other side it will be a pull out futon which doesn’t affect the levelness of the floor on that side either. As for the underside and gap between the wheel well and the outside panel…there is a 2” inch gap which I notched a piece of “C” channel to fit same as the wheel well shape and exterior panel which will fully seal that area. Working on editing that video now to finish that part. Heat out here has put a delay on some of the work last few weeks

I disagree but every one has an opinion. Wood floors will allow the trailer to flex as it drives down the highway without being to rigid which could lead to internal damage to things either fixed to the floor or the interior panels. Also weight is a factor. My goal was to get the entire trailer under 2,650 pounds total weight which was actually accomplished and verified at a certified weigh scale that was also registered with the California Highway Patrol and Department of Motor vehicles which will an a upcoming video that was filmed out about 11 months ago when the process was all complete. My 1957 Chevy truck will be towing this trailer around so all the less weight the better too.

Wish I could but without them the sun blinds me. Eyes are too sensitive to light and can’t keep them open outside without them.
