Hi all, never did I know this little vid from a few years back would generate such interest! This was only ever a bit of fun. A friend was in possession of a black Bell 222 so we thought we'd take it up (along with me in a Jet Ranger) and fly over the Kent coast and wind farms. I just stuck it up here being quite possibly the biggest Airwolf fan (along with all of you!) Cheers for the views. James

This is DEFINITELY not The Lady... but I do appreciate the effort. I think what saddens me most about Airwolf is that The Lady herself, Jan-Michael Vincent, and Ernest Borgnine are all gone now... :( What a hell of a show Airwolf was when it was still on television... I miss the 80's.... Airwolf was one of my favorite shows and to be quite honest, it always will be! To The Lady, Jan-Michael Vincent, and Earnest Borgnine... Rest in peace... thank you for the memories!

Putting aside nostalgia and memories from my youth this still is a amazingly beautifull helicopter. Even by modern day standards it's so damn pretty in this trim.

Knight Rider, AirWolf and real rock bands with people that played their own instruments. Boy the 80's were great!

When I was a kid, this helicopter was the reason I wanted to learn how to fly helos.

Who remembers the old Airwolf dogfight scenes, when Stringfellow's black visor would slap down and lock into place, my brother and I would say: "Say Goodbye!"

I saw the original Airwolf at the Long Beach Airshow in April 1985. I only have one picture of it but I saw it several other times. They were filming the episode "Desperate Monday" at the airport at the time and flew it over for the airshow. I remember it flying right over me, slow and low and landed in the middle of the crowd. You couldn't do that today. It is such an amazing memory that I will never forget.

Dont ever let her die for future generations. I appreciate the effort. Just make sure it's known this is not the original. She is long gone, along with her "pilots". RIP, my darlings. Thanks for an awesome childhood

The Bell 222 has to be one of the best looking helos I’ve ever laid eyes on. Especially in the Airwolf colors. My gosh she’s purty.

Unfortunately the studio sold the original helicopter, it was converted into an air ambulance in Germany and was destroyed when it crashed during a mountain rescue in 1992.

I appreciate the homage, but painting a Bell 222A and calling it Air Wolf is like calling a black '82 Trans Am KITT.

Even the paint job looks to be off. Still good to see some effort of maintaining the image of a legendary chopper.

She was a grand lady. Sad that they're all gone, and this is just someone recreating a memory. Well done video. Well done indeed.

I remember an interview during season2. US Army Generals saw the hammerhead stall maneuver on the show. They called up Don Bellisario to personally find out if the footage was legit. Or Hollywood SPFX. I will always have a childlike love for this show.

The original AirWolf after being sold, and while operating as an air ambulance, crashed into a mountain because of fog on June 6, 1992, killing all three of its occupants. But of course anyone with money can make replica's.

If you're going to go to the trouble of paying for a paint job, you would think that they would have at least got the colours correct. On the real Airwolf the upper colour was Dupont "Phantom Gray Metallic", not standard gloss black FFS.

I know the original crashed etc but its cool that someone has gone to the effort to being her memory back! Give credit where credit is due!

That "N22ZW" plastered in big massive letters spoils the look and just makes it look like just another helicopter. Even the cockpit is a big let down. At least KITT is still very much on the road complete with all his features.

The only thing that was made by humans that makes “real” spaceship sound. that’s the thing I’ve never forgotten about airwolf... legend.

Hope they plan to finish its mock up. Give it the chain guns, missle turret, Turbos and nose shroud. THAT would give goosebumps.

Still just seeing something like the Lady brings back great memories. I think they should produce that show again!

Airwolf was always such a poxy looking "super vehicle" - made Blue Thunder look pretty spectacular by comparison, which is ironic as Dan O'bannon always hated what they did with his concept.

It is just painted a little bit like Airwolf.The original Airwolf was built back to stock and then sold to germany The Heli crashed in a thunderstorm while he was on a rescue Mission. All passangers died in that crash. So sad RIP Airwolf

I was near Van Nuys airport, in 1984 I believe, and decided to look up Jetcopters in a phone book. Address was Waterman Drive. I drove around the airport till I found it. I went in the Jetcopters office and asked a lady at a desk if I could see Airwolf. She opened a door to the hangar and turned me loose. I was first surprised to see that it was dark metallic gray on top and very light gray underneath. I thought it was black and white on tv. And the interior was pure utility helicopter.. nothing fancy at all. Remember the HX-1 episode? It was sitting next to Airwolf. A Sikorsky S-76 minus the rocket pods. It looked huge. And it was much nicer with a round table surrounded by captains chairs in the passenger area. Then outside near some fuel pumps sat the Santini Air Jetranger. I always kept my 35mm camera with me so I have lots of pictures.

So sad Jan-Michael drank himself to death, literally. Such a loss. :(

When N3176S crashed fatally it broke my heart, it was ironic though that at the time she was being operated as an Air Ambulance, the stealthy death machine that was Airwolf was saving lives. There have been several Bell 222’s painted in Airwolf livery around the world. A small operator here in South Africa briefly advertised ‘flights in Airwolf’ using the aircraft but except for a replica sitting in some wealthy collectors mansion in the States none were properly adorned with the prop Guns, intakes and jet exhausts, refueling probes and various fairings. I am the proud owner of a set of drawings depicting proposed attachments for submission to the FAA, which was ultimately approved for the flying airframe.

Theres a tiny detail that really was the icing on the cake with Airwolf and that was the way it was written into the script how much Dom and String loved and respected their Lady....the odd pat of the hand on the nose...... and as in this clip where they both just stop for a moment to look at her.....what a show. Sad its all gone but we can stiil soak up the repeats and one of the best TV theme tunes ever.

Airwolf was my childhood. I wish they would have made a few with Knight Rider. That would have been epic. I'd watch that right now and love every second.

Sadly the original Airwolf no longer exists. A short time after Airwolf went off the air, it had crashed and killed several people. Just running across this video now in 2021 all the fun memories of the show had me happy and like WHAT!!! IT LIVES..... then I remembered this sad fact. Airwolf was a great part of tv prime time for this ‘70’s kid at heart

Does anyone remember when "Ponch" (Eric Estrada) would fly as an observer in the CHP chopper in the series "Chips" ? How about "Blue Thunder" series or the Movie with Roy Schneider ? Remember the "240 Roberts" series with Mark Harmon playing one of two L.A. County Sheriff Paramedics along with Joanna Cassidy as the helicopter pilot ? AIRWOLF was the best. I was super young from DR. The show was on Tuesday at 7:00 pm, and I always caught 1 episode; now I'm 47, and hearing the music makes me chill.

May not be the real " Lady " But it is still nice eye candy. Guys love there machines, The General Lee, Kitt, A-Team van, The Bandit, and many more. Over the summer I saw a guy driving the car " not the one in the movies but a replica " of Back to the Future. So many people took a second look pointing and smiling. When you can get people to smile, even if it is for just a moment, that is real magic. This was very cool.

Well, that's cute. I'd pay to fly in the Bell 222 in the video (N222ZW). Of course the original Airwolf, a modified Bell 222A (N3176S) crashed as previously mentioned. Flight in a jetranger? After being sold to Germany "The Lady" became an air ambulance and on the fateful day of June 6 1993 she attempted a rescue when heavy fog rolled in and sadly she crashed into a mountain and all 3 people onboard did not survive. From TV hero to real hero the "The Lady" deserved a better fate however she me some great childhood memories thanks to 90's reruns.

This was freaking awesome. Well done!!!! Wish I lived closer. I'd love to get a pic of my 4th season KITT with this girl. Heck if you can convince your friend to mock it up a little I can get him a good shot at housing in the New England Air Museum next to KITT as he was designed after an air flight cockpit.

The sound effects were awesome in that show. Wish my Honda CR-V made this sounds, but it just does a buzzing "no vagina allowed" sound... and not in a good way.

Should remake this into a movie, or netflix

James, first off , big props to you man, great video, nice camera work and for all of us, kids of the 80's . What a nice and very fond memory, to remind us of a show that was awesome in the day, and makes the heart warm from that memory, as cool as it would be to see something made , out of respect for the original, which you have most certainly done , I'm not if a new take or reboot would go over , but one never knows and again Thank You, for making a lot of us smile, in these troubled times , which we rise from , peace to all and James, make some videos so , man you do a killer job.

I like it! The original bodywork is still out there collecting dust. Also a clone was made for a now defunct flight museum and last I saw was sitting static next to a mansion that was for sale. If the bird depicted in this film was mine, i'd look into getting me some body panels for "The Lady"...just sayin'.

It's not a jet ranger, It's a 222, it's amazing how after 35 years people still think it's a model that it doesnt even resemble.

Really makes you appreciate the filmmaking craft of the original series/movie. Not only does this not fly like it (I knew helicopter pilots back in the original run who were very impressed by the stunt flying in Airwolf), the rotors don't even have the same look.

I will say Monster Aviation did a good job on replicating Airwolf.

Hey I enjoy watching airwolf and what I would like to see is a new show with her in it get a few actors together and see who would want to do it and you can call it a upgrade on her

Thats basically a Bell 222 with a paint job.......and the original Airwolf was destroyed during a freak lightning storm over Germany on its way to do some charity work..........so please......stop calling it Airwolf......when it clearly isn't
