Ajax Sign Calvin Bassey From Rangers For €22M+

Күн бұрынAjax have signed Calvin Bassey from Rangers for a fee of €22m + €5m add ons and a 10% sell on fee according to numerous reports. The Nigerian versatile defender will soon fly out to the Netherlands to complete the deal. Here are my thoughts on the deal and on Calvin Bassey.

Cant say no to the money and the lad loved the club and appreciated his opportunity with us lets hope he goes on and represents himself well in his career once a Ranger always a Ranger

Just got to wish the big geezer all the best, absolute machine and a unit, I love the guy, he’s solid, never gives up, can run for fun, destroyed the beggars in the semi final, was MOTM in the Europa final, wish him all the best, boy deserves everything going for him. Fee agreed its £18.7million with add on rising to £22.9million and a 10% sell on clause seen it on Skysports about 2hrs ago it's been agreed by both clubs to me that's shocking and nowhere near enough we should of told Ajax were to go with that offer but no as usual we except I'm sick of under selling our players it's been going on for far to long now.

Absolutely gutted but a great deal considering what we got him for. We are short at the back now so need a good defender as Souter and katic are injury prone so they will be out at some stage during the long season.

Sold short yet again. Tierney goes for £25m, always injured, then we sell Bassey, who is miles better, for less.

After the add ons, Bassey's deal is worth as much as Tierney's was. Bassey's is 22 million euros with a 5 million euro add on fee which adds up to 27 million euros, equal to what Tierney's fee was. Then with Bassey we still have a 10% sell on fee which we could easily make a couple million off of because Bassey could be sold on for a lot of money. But I do understand the frustration mate. Perhaps we could have still held out for more money.

@@Alexander.......... Could have at least got £20m, plus add on also. Losing Bassey is losing a LB and CB. Ajax have got good value.

Rangers could not say no to this amount of money as much as we dont want it to happen its business at the end of the day
