I’ve been grinding through the Giant Battle stuff in the battle hub and the CPU Akuma is throwing out some GNARLY combinations. May as well set the controller down sometimes😹

Hmm... So Akuma's angular tatsu with that finishing kick looks very similar to Dan's EX-Dankuukyaku now, huh? Even Satsui no Hadou borrows inspiration from Saikyo Style.

8:40 it's probably like Cammy...where, because of scaling, your optimal combo routes from drive rush are different if you're doing 1 DR or 2. So the heavy kick from DR is probably only good if it's a single DR combo. If you're dumping meter for a kill, you probahly want a combo without HK to reduce scaling.

Around release I remember talk about how multihits advance scaling being different in this title. I never went further than mashing with the bros in older sf games to know exactly, but I definitely remember gelatin labs or somebody doing an explainer on it

You can hit an air jab before landing when doing the jump in raging demon. If it’s blocked or hits it doesn’t combo 😎👌

That shortcut is in every street fighter game I've played. That's how I've always done raging demon.

Done characters have normals that basically special cancel into each other. Akumas first trial is one, MK > HK is a target combo. You cancel the MK into the HK, you don't link it like you do most things The best way to think of it is like gatlings from most anime games, just way more restrictive and character specific

The forward in raging demon cannot be on the same frame as lk and hp like in 4, its 4 inluts minimum.

fwd+LK+HP does not work for raging demon in SF6, you need to do the forward before LK+HP

He's got Palumboism, aka bubble gut. It's a condition modern body builders get. Imo it looks hideous. A very odd design choice. 🤨

@@MansMan42069 oh it definitely is. Not a severe case, but he's got a very ball shaped torso instead of the classic V shape and people have taken notice. Pretty obvious they wanted him to look as animalistic or demon-like as possible. Don't be offended. I know neither you nor I designed him.

@@mRibbons ...offended by what? The "ball shape" isn't there in the side profile, so your assessment is wrong. Palumboism is characterised by the distinct inability to suck in that gut. Akuma clearly has no problem with that. Just look at the startup frames on his flame punch special. No bubble gut. In fact, it's a nice inward curve. I don't know how me pointing out that you're wrong is me being "offended". You're not projecting, I hope? You would have a case if it was Oni, but not SF6 Akuma.

The main identifying feature of Palumboism is when the gut's musculature appears larger than the chest... Which is clear with Akuma. Being unable to suck in the gut might happen in some cases, but it is not how Palumboism is identified. Notably, Palumboism _is_ _not_ _a_ _real_ _medical_ _condition_ lololol. It's silly that you mean to define it by strict medical characteristics. So if you aren't offended by me insulting your new favorite character, I can only assume you are the type who likes to jump in other people's comments and incorrectly correct them... Which is cringe, to say the least.

I know a lot of people always say the new character is broken. But Akuma is definitely broken. He has no weaknesses outside of a little lower health. He does a ridiculous amount of damage without even relying on drive meter. I think I need to wait until season 3. It's actually cartoonish. We are now in paid to win territory.
