The Al Atlas trains are the backbone for passenger rail transportation in Morocco, in the North of Africa. These trains do cover long distances and serve both smaller and bigger railway stations.
In this video we'll take an Al Atlas train from Fès, the northernmost king city in Morocco to Marrakesh via Meknes, Kenitra, Rabat and Casablanca discovering different kind of landscapes and while meeting different people along the way. The train is the best way to discover Morocco in many different ways.
In the video we'll start of by showing the railway station of Fès, than we'll show the Al Atlas trains and some views from the train straight through Morocco on our way to Marrakesh via Meknes, Kenitra, Rabat and Casablanca.
While we'll show you all of this, there will be some background information on how to book your tickets and how to plan your journey by train in Morocco.

We’re currently in Morocco (leaving tonight) and made a visit to Marrakesh last Wednesday 29th May. We did a coach tour from our hotel in Agadir but will definitely be making a return visit to the country to see more of it and enjoy the architecture. Glad to see the railways are getting support and hopefully one day Agadir will be linked to Marrakesh by train rather than a 4 hour coach journey. Such a fascinating country.

Great video, thank you. The more I see of Morocco, the more I feel the need to visit again, so I’m definitely looking forward to your next Moroccan reports. The big stations especially look spectacular.

Thanks, yes Morocco is a great place to visit, personally I would avoid it when it's super hot in the summer though haha.

Another fascinating video! Morocco's train network is far faster than Greece's...

I think it's faster than most European countries. However some lines (for example east from Fes) are pretty slow, mayve the average speed is still pretty high because where trains can go fast there are more trains. And honestly, the way they are investing in high speed rail now, partly I think it's awesome however I truly think that upgrading tracks, frequency and trains can be more important than traveling a little bit faster. In spain I noticed vert expensive bridges that cut down the travel time by 3 minutes for only 10 trains per day or so. I love to cover Greece (including ferries from / to Italy) as well on my channel by the way, it's not a question of if more a question of when, but I'll go there for sure one day.
