Technically, as the US invaded and had made no gains at the end, the British won... As for WW2: The invasion of Britain had already been cancelled before the raid on Pearl Harbor, let alone any US forces arriving in the UK. @bbcmotd3 жыл бұрын
provate @ 1. Why 14 years? The anthem was written during WW2 and between that and 1991 there was about 50 years still. 2. The Soviet Union was not hated. Some people were obviously not happy but the overwhelming majority of people in the USSR loved their homeland and had lived in peace side by side for a centuries. 3. Not sure which line is "Sing to the Motherland, home of the free", maybe it's "Славься отечество наше свободное" which is "Long live our free motherland". Freedom in Soviet/Russian mentality is not the western "freedom" but having a sovereign nation independent from any foreign power. 4. While the things you mention are true, the point of the line is that the Party is the strengh of the nation, which isn't false, as that was the force that drove the USSR through the civil war, the industrialization, through winning WW2 and into winning the space race.

In what war? The Soviets did most the effort in ww2 killing more soldiers in the battle of Berlin and stalingrad than America did in the WHOLE WAR the only thing your carrying mate is a salty attitude 🤣

I don't know whether to laugh or cry at all the moronic yank's in the comment section who don't understand sarcasm/British humor. Then again America is the country that's getting flooded by horde's of SJW's, Muslim's who want Sharia Law, feminazi's and BLM (srsly America how the hell did you let it get THAT out of control?) there r plenty of other countries who understand this is sarcasm and thus don't take it so seriously so why the flying fuck can't you? srsly looking through the comments there r a lot of other countries actually using their brain's and detecting sarcasm and yet the American comments of "HOW DARE HE MOCK MY COUNTRY?!?!?!?!? OUR COUNTRY IS PERFECT IN EVERY SINGLE POSSIBLE WAY AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT!!!" Makes it easy to see why America is the easiest country to joke about huh?

The thing he forgot is that New Zealand has two national anthems: God defend New Zealand and God save the Queen

"God defend New Zealand"? Seriously? I'm sorry but please give me the Maori part it's got to be more relevant LOL! Oh, I'm an Aussie for all those NZers who want to tell me how dumb I am LOL! Taking the piss BTW...Yeah? Yeah?
@stensoft9 жыл бұрын
LJY08 Maori version is about defending Aotearoa which is (at least originally) only the North Island
@LJY089 жыл бұрын
Jan Sten Adámek I understand that the North Island is the home of Maoridom not the South, yes?
@stensoft9 жыл бұрын
LJY08 Maori settled both islands around the same time. But the most powerful settlements were indeed on the North Island, and also European colonization started from the north and most resistance (including New Zealand Wars) was on the North Island as well.

+LJY08 It's pretty much the same thing, asking God to defend the country, but a bit more gentle and poetic. It doesn't have strife and war in it.

He should’ve spoken about the Scottish anthem, and how it’s basically just calling the English a bunch of wankers.

Al Murray is hilarious but God Save the Queen is the most boring tune in history.
