Great combination of patience & clear communication, from my perspective. When he asks "do you understand?" it's never a performative question, but a genuine inquiry. He always seems ready to go over things again or move on, as needed, without judgment.

Man, this is such a great and very educational video from one of the most respected men in the business. However, I wish this would be reuploaded with that really annoying background buzzing removed, and in higher quality (even 480p would be decent enough). This video suffers significantly because of those two issues and it's a crying shame.

That is called the " HORSE STANCE " in Karate. Feet slightly always spread a lil past hips n shoulders. Knees a lil bent similar to riding a bike. I would imagine that using a BACK PEDDLING technique like a NFL CORNERBACK would come in handy on making your footwork Second Nature.

he has a few techniques; when the person gives the right answer he responds with, "then why aren't you doing it?" a lot of this is him explaining things he learned after the main height of his career. a cynic will call it "do as I say not as I do" but a smart realizes he's speaking from experience. his way is gospel (meaning it is a great truth even if it slightly differs from what Regal or Riley would say)

What they dont get these days is that although EVERYBODY knows its predetermined, that does not stop people having emotional investment in it. The only thing that does, is that they dont sell it like al is saying anymore. I can suspend my disbelief watching goldberg, who I believe is not the greatest technically, but I cannot when I watch daniel bryan, who is classed as exceptional technically. Therefore Goldberg is a better worker than bryan. Convince me that you may be in combat 1%, trick my brain a little, and I will watch... do 150 spots, 40 false finishes with zero psychology, im changing the tv channel

Dear Al, In a headlock, I would back a guy into the ropes because I want the ref to break the hold. But just before he does, I may cheat and as he loosens up,(or I pull his hair and trunks) I would propel him into the ropes using momentum. It is just as stupid to throw someone into the ropes from the middle of the ring as it is to back them up and then propel them. Neither move would be done in a street fight or an MMA ring and they are both equally bullshit.
